Of all Steve Walsh's cock-ups (of which there are many) I don't blame him for the Sandro transfer, even when you factor his wages into account which are allegedly quite high.
£5m for a 21 year old ex Barca youth product who'd just scored 16 goals for a side who were terrible (I think they went down this year) was a heck of a deal imo.
Sometimes transfers just don't work out. The major worry moving forwards I think is why he continued to struggle in Seville.
I agree, when we heard of the transfer it seemed like a great bargain. Have said it in many places before..all the young or new players deserve a second chance because of no coaching, no direction, no mentoring, no tactics and a rubbish season last year which included sessions with Allardyce, lee and Shakespeare, which would drive anyone mad.
All the U20 WC winners, Holgate, Gylfi, Plus Sandro, Vlasic, Klassen, Keane deserve some time and a second chance. Bolasie, Williams, Cuco, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, less bothered about they don't really deserve second look in my opinion, I think they are the types who should have played better and upped their games to get through a difficult year.
