This 100%.

Iv said elsewhere, we cannot risk playing Kassen , Vlasic or Lookman at the moment, with our defensive frailty's.

They cannot be relied upon to supply the defensive cover we undoubtley need.

Until we get a decent LB in neither Klassen, Lookman or Vlasic will get the game time they need to settle in.
Risk it? We have scored exactly 1 goal in the last 5 premier league games and accrued a massive 1 point. Let that sink in. And you're telling me we can't play any different attacking players? What outcome are you afraid of that's worse than that?

Attacking aids the defense by 1, keeping the ball up the pitch, and 2, not demanding clean sheets in the hope of sneaking one point. Also, Lookman covered his side very well in the cup game against Liverpool and helped make a goal. It's not like they can't defend as well as what Bolasie does. Lookman and Vlasic aren't silver bullets, but they actually have the capacity to provide a threat. In my opinion, Lookman has the potential to be special, but we'll likely never get to see it here unfortunately.

Iam saying we can play any amount of attacking players as we like.

I would love to see a line up of Siggy, Rooney, Vlasic, Bolassie, Sandro and Cenk Tosun staring every game for us.

And go out and attack from the first whistle.

I dread to think what the final score would be though with a defence of any combination of JJK, Holgate, Williams, Jags and Martina.

Of course we can't play exclusively attacking players, but saying we can't play Lookman or Vlasic because we can't trust them is silly when you look at what we've done without them. 0 points is 0 points. 0 goals means no chance of winning a match. Risk can also pay dividends.

To be honest does anyone really know what the answer is any more? Martinez went rubbish, Koeman went rubbish, Unsworth couldn’t inspire anything, now Allardyce after an ok start has reverted to the norm. Since the end of the 13/14 season no one can inspire any sort of sustained form above lower mid table. The players come and go, managers come and go, whatever the combo we’re always crap. There is a systemic rotten core at the club that needs to be eliminated.

We knew when we hired him this is what we were gonna get. He's been doing this for 20+ years now - there's no way we thought he might be able to get more from this team.

Keep us up, thank him and respectfully bin him at EOS. Had enough of this negative Nancy already.

Not defending Allardyce's Everton, but you really need to give up on the cherry-picked, context-free stats. It really does you a disservice and weakens your argument.

Unsworth: Leicester, Watford, Crystal Palace, Southampton, West Ham.
Allardyce: Huddersfield, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Swansea, Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Bournemouth, Manchester United, Tottenham

Simply looking at average points over such a short timeframe completely misses the fact that under Allardyce we've played 4 of the top 6, and under Unsworth we played none of them.

What were your expectations for points over those matches?

Why aren't we playing them then?

Who would you drop to play them?

lets play attacking football with loads of poor attackers and leave even bigger holes in front of the defence than we already have

Ask Sam. How about Bolasie instead of rushing him back to full 90s after a year out? Maybe Rooney out and try to play Sig centrally where he's been more effective. Maybe if we're that concerned about supporting our full backs we bring Beni back in to sit in front of the back 4 for additional cover from midfield? Maybe we switch systems? There's a lot of options, but once again, 1 goal and 1 point in our last 5 prem matches....Keep going with what we've seen though?

Apples and pears to an extent.

When Unsworth came in we were in the bottom three and with our confidence on the floor. When Allardyce came in we were within a win of the top half of the table and that provided the base for the initial run of acceptable results. Not to mention that Allardyce has had what Unsworth was never afforded: a FT position and the respect and focus from players attendant with that.

Was Unsworth the answer or a better bet to improve us more than Allardyce? Maybe, maybe not. But I doubt we'd be that worse off now if he'd been promoted to a FT role back in October. The style of football would have been more palatable and getting shut this summer to install a new manager less expensive.

We have had a series of frauds in charge who have told us that they spend on the squad but the reality is they dont and we keep losing our best players. That's the fundamental problem.

The answer for us is to unearth a special manager who can work under that constraint and use what resources we have unbelievably well to force us into the top four for a couple of seasons. If we have to fall short of that - and unless we stumble across a Potchettino - we should at least try and play entertaining football while falling short of knocking the elite off their perch.

His name is Paulo Fonseca and he will be our next manager.

I hope not.

I hope first thing Monday morning we unveil a new left back, which would allow our more attack minded players to concentrate on doing just that, rather than trying to do defensive jobs that quite clearly they have no desire to do.

Agree with the Beni shout, but is he really the answer he's 19 and still learning his trade. A run of games in this team could ruin him forever, and we already have 2 defensive midfielders trying to that job already, and failing.
