Cruel but would be a classic especially if he could see it in the studioI'm hoping that sky sports are going to break the news with the yellow bar at the bottom telling Sam he's been sacked halfway through the program.
You are a cruel fella.Cruel but would be a classic especially if he could see it in the studio
Or we could see if Moshiri has grown a set over the past few months and does a major cull/night of he long knives stuff in one major hit, most of the media hate us for some unknown reason so giving them a bit more ammunition wont hurt much.Appearances are important here also, in addition I think Moshiri has to make every effort to ensure the transition from old to new manager is done as promptly as possible.
As much as we may disagree, the general perception out there is that Allardyce has done pretty much all he was mandated to do, and to anyone looking at this in a more dispassionate way, "probably" deserves a shot at another season at the very least, with the ability to bring in more of his own players and further impose his will on the teams approach and tactics.
We already have the media against us on this, and probably the general majority of those who take more than a passing interest. The clubs movement will also be closely watched by other managers, both in and out of work.
We have to play it somewhat cautiously therefore. If we could announce Brands even a few days beforehand, it would help. The key point we want to get across is that the club has conducted a review of football operations, and as part of that process, it has been decided to dispense with Allardyce's services in favour of a new approach with a new manager and DOF working in tandem. The club can thank Allardyce profusely and go on about what a difficult decision it has been, and very reluctantly made etc etc. That is just good media management, perhaps not entirely honest, but just smoothes out the rough edges in the process.
Sacking Allardyce yesterday or today just adds grist to the mill for our critics. I'm expecting something towards the end or the week or later but its regrettable overall that we couldn't have confirmed Brands earlier.
I also expect that they'll allow a period of at least a few days between a sacking and a hiring announcement, just to avoid accusations that a deal for a new manager was sewn up behind Allardyce's back.
That's what they should do, though our communications and media liaison is rank amateur.

Until Dan Meis instagrams a bisto tattoo then it's nothing like it. Plus I still have optimism that this thread will come good within 4 seasons. This is like checking the new ground thread, full of expectation and hope, and nothing to report......
