He is desperate to control the narrative. If he was confident in his job , he wouldn’t care what the fans think he never has before. The fans are inconsequential to him.
His only way to lobby Moshiri , following a clearly vague and non- commital ‘clarification’ meeting is through his chums in the media.
He’s already swinging in the breeze.

Yeah I think he’s performing damage control on himself and calling favours from his media buddies

I'm not the least bit bothered if all of these idiots spend 6 hours a day slating us all summer once he's gone.

Everton aren't in the Sky 6 so ultimately they view us as one of the unimportant clubs. Hoddle summed them all up. "Why cant these Everton fans just get back in their lane and leave our mate alone? They've got a cheek not being happy with their lot, who do they think they are?"

Not a single one would be the same if he were at a Sky 6 club. Look how they're framing Puel in comparison because he hasn't got the same press contacts.

Once he's gone it will blow over and they'll move onto something else and on and on it goes.

He can’t lose. He leaves and we are great he can claim the new manager is benefiting from his hard work or he leaves and we’re still shockingly bad and he’ll claim it’s because he performed miracles. The man’s been doing this routine since he got the sack from Newcastle and bigger fool our club for letting him dictate the narrative.

So for Reid to stay quiet instead of backing his mate is a good sign
Peter Reid and Andy Gray were on Bein Sports at the weekend, Reid said something along the lines of Everton fans not seeing the type of football they expect at Goodison, Keyes with a face like a slapped arse said Sam is good friend of ours but I can’t see him being able to hold on to the job at the end of the season. Or words to that effect, it was beautiful.

I look forward to next season and the media not comprehending why Southampton don't appreciate Big Scam saving them from 12th place at Christmas and getting them to the top 10.

What do Saints fans expect? Big Sam has kept them up after flirtations with relegation.

And repeat.

And repeat.

I`m not so sure now, having just listened to that interview.

If the club were giving him the boot at the weekend, surely they`d keep him off the radio and stop him from playing the wounded soldier.
They will avoid that media exposure - let the season end then get the right man first then sack Sam and co later on in close season!

we are just Arsenal in reverse, they don't deserve what they have although they have won trophies in the last 5 years we should just except that we are only here to make the numbers up, ambition is only for the Sky 6

I have a new theory about Sam.

We all know he got an 18 months contract but what if there a clause or clauses in there from Everton side.

Moshiri’s has to pay 2 managers off in the last few years and probably didn’t fancy a third, so had something along the lines of, get us 7th you get the extra year but fail and you leave with x amount, not the full amount.

Sams recent pressers have all been about what he’s done, where we where, how we improved and all that rubbish. All this PR is trying to keep him in the job rether then wind up the fans.

Just a theory

Get the right man???? Not happened since Kendall left in 1988 and a brief 1 season with Royle......what makes you think this gang of failures are going to suddenly get it right?
