Sam Allardyce On Everton

were in a bad way, but I don't think were as bad as people are making out, I mean its not like we're bottom 10 points adrift, we literally could win 2 of the next 4 games and be about 12th

it's all about confidence, get a scrappy boring win against Watford and they settle down a bit, agreed that Williams jags and baines at the back isn't ideal, wouldn't go appointment a fat sam just yet, give unsworth till the international break, go for a tuchel or someone and he has loads of time to turn it around, he will have arguable our 2 best players coming back soonish ( ross and coleman ) and then has January to sort of the defence and striker issue

chill

I thought I was missing something, namely a memory of November, December and January passing.

I think last year we had a bad patch in the Prem that was probably not far off this one, we still finished 7th. We've got a lot to do but some seem to think we're already down.

Giving him the job until the end of the season and then going for a proper replacement for Koeman in the summer when they'll be more options isn't the worst idea ever.

Nothing is going to be achieved now this season, it's purely damage limitation as depressing as that sounds. It's a fact sadly. Least he'd get us organised, well away from danger and possibly a memorable win or two. Then we shake hands and move on at the end of the season whilst he goes back to his pints of wine and gravy toasting another successful job done.

Don't reckon it will happen but people turning their nose up at the idea need to get off their big horses. Would you rather Unsworth? We saw yesterday how out of his depth he is for full-time Premier League football. As far as short term fixes go you probably don't get better than Allardyce in English football.

Flash up the delorean and go back to the summer on GOT.
When we were sexy fc.
Start a thread about Sam Alladyce becoming our manager before Bonfire Night.

Read earlier that his record with Sunderland was 2 defeats in 16 at one stage?

Hard to know who is worse at this stage but that’s very impressive either way.

Not someone I would ever have countenanced as Everton manager up to a few weeks ago but he would bring stability and certainty, or at least offer the best prospect of same.

At this point and under these very difficult circumstances I would have to say now that his would be a good appointment.
Just had a look and from the 2nd of January until the end of the season we lost only 4 of 19 games

Spurs, City, West Ham, Leicester

The first thing he’d do is get you organised and hard to beat. It mightn’t be pretty at first but it would be effective once confidence levels are up the football under him improves I don’t buy into this he’s a long ball manager malarkey he had Defoe upfront for us we played some good stuff under him.
Also makes me laugh the way West Ham treated him “The West Ham Way” they’re more of a long ball side under Biic
