Its your typical opinion of someone who watches the game and judges solely by what the player does on the ball/chances they have at goal.

Its why people called Wilf Zaha crap for years when he was less prolific despite him being key in dragging defences around and winning fouls in and around the danger zone.

He was bang average today as he has been every game but he did what was needed at times.
Zaha dragging defenses away by making runs and rondon walking around the front, backing into center backs is completely different things. Rondon was horrible but people are buzzing on the result. Fair enough. But he was horrible

He wasn't great but he occupied the CB's creating space for the likes of Gray to exploit.

Dobbin wouldn't have done that.

Haven't seen the match but if all he's done is kept their defence even a bit occupied then he's done a half decent job. Might still be a load of poo though.

Get off the fella's back he's not fit we all know that - moaning constantly when we have a kid on the bench who's nowhere near ready and not Ronaldo or Cavani to replace him with.

In a counter attacking setup, movement pace is paramount. We don’t need him to play like Ronaldo, we all know he can’t contribute much with the ball, all we’re asking is for him to run, drag centerback out of position, let other players take advantage of the space.

what he did was completely opposite. Being a useless and immobile pole upfront contributes nothing at all. If you think someone who runs more will cause great harm in how we play, you have no idea what counter attack is all about.

He actually occupied the CB's allowing the midfield + Gray to push forward more but please keep telling us how you know more than a Champions League winning manager :coffee:

He looks like a sausage roll in a blue kit - not fit .... why we persist with him use Ellis Simms FGS.....
I'm not a great scholar of players out there in the footie world and only knew that he'd played for Albion and Newcastle. When he signed for us and in our circumstances regards injuries I had him just as a stop gap until our front two get back. Hopefully that'll be for the West Ham game. In the meantime it's just to keep opposition teams defence on their toes.
