I think he occupied the CBs better than people think.

Its your typical opinion of someone who watches the game and judges solely by what the player does on the ball/chances they have at goal.

Its why people called Wilf Zaha crap for years when he was less prolific despite him being key in dragging defences around and winning fouls in and around the danger zone.

He was bang average today as he has been every game but he did what was needed at times.

Exactly. Rafael knows what he offers, and does what he was asked (all be it a bit slower lol).
 
Agreed. Not very glamorous though, and that what people notice.
He’s got a long way to go with his fitness but if you can’t run at least win what you can. Against a poorer team today our players would have been 10 yards further up the pitch and one of those flick on’s could have resulted in a goal.
More of a contribution that any other of our back up strikers the last few years
