the fact everton have already gone for the permit would suggest...

1, the terms and future fee have been agreed upon with the valencia board (not there manager-this is going ahead against his wishes)
2.the terms of banega's contract has been agreed 'in principle' between the player and everton.
3.he needs to pass a medical then he will sign his contract.

imo wether he passes the medical or not is now the only stumbling block.

(tbh it seems we evertonians have now grown to fear the worst - take note everton board as this is due to you mucking about too many times)

Played 90minutes the other week I think. Should be alright unless he's just made of celotape.

I could be completely wrong here but didn't we do a similar thing with Moutinho last season, we where talking to him before we'd actually agreed anything with Sporting.

We where in discussions with Pini Zahavi who is Joao Moutinho's agent, he was actually trying to make the deal happen If I remember correctly. That's what the Portuguese press where saying last summer.

Could this be something similar? I hope not.

Well the version I heard regarding Moutinho was that we had agreed personal terms, we just needed to try and blag Sporting to sell their Captain and star player for 50p and a packet of wine gums.

Strange that they didn't take that deal. It would have been a steal for them... Winegums are soooo good!:D

This.

We didnt reach their valuation of the player. I'm sure staggered payments were involved and they didnt want it knowing us.

Could quite easily be the case. Happens quite often I think. Agents negotiate and then just present a deal to the player afterwards.

If we fail to sign a creative central midfielder this summer I give up to be honest, I really do.

Just someone who's capable of entertaining me and has the ability to pick a pass further than 5 yards.
