RS outnumber us 2:1 in Liverpool, has it always been this way?

I work all over the area at there is more blues than rs.There are places like kirkby which is a rs hot spot, but overall certainly more blues.

Most of the pubs are miles more choca when Liverpool play than when Everton are on like, that prob has something to do with them actually trying to win stuff though or at least challenging, were as it's not uncommon for us to be midtable mediocrity and out the cups by Jan/Feb. When you take into consideration the Wool infestation of the city over the last 10-15 years that's been like a pandemic in the area, then I don't think it's far wrong. I take comfort in knowing most of the wrongun's, middle class nonces and weirdos support them as well though.

Liverpool have more "fans", no doubt about that, but these fans include Jan from accounts who squeezes into a minty Crown Paints top to go down the pub to watch the Champions League final once in a blue moon and thinks Klopp is "boss" and Clive next door who loves the epic bantz with the "bitters" but has never been to Anfield in his life even though he lives 5 streets away.

Staunch fandom I reckon is quite equal, they (understandably I suppose) have loads more glory hunters.

Spot on.

Said the same in the stadium thread. They have loads of 'fans' who would never attempt to actively go a game or watch a league game on the tv. Happy to geg in when they make finals etc. They will be out in full force currently. If the USM project is successful, more casual fans and people who remember that their Grandad was a fan, will jump on our bandwagon.

Granted you see more nobs in full kit clobber down Paradise Street or Hannover Street way but in my experience going about my daily life and talking to people there are no more RS in the city of Liverpool than there are Blues.

Which, BTW, is a remarkable fact given the success they have enjoyed since the mid 70s right up to this very day compared to what we have done in that period, a few years in the mid 80s notwithstanding.

Not to mention the media fawning all over them, filling young people’s head with relentless propaganda.

In the face of that we should be an endangered species by now.

And I am going to take my share of credit for that....along with all the other Everton mums and dads, grandads and nans, uncles and aunts, big brothers and sisters who have sprinkled their young kinfolk with Evertonianism.

We have kept the dream alive through famine and more famine.

Take a bow, you young Blues.

Your day is coming....soon.

COYBB

It's probably true, but as others have said,, their 'support' is made up largely of clueless airheads and glory seeking dopes. People in the city, who have zero interest in football, will say Liverpool when pressed on who they support probably as some sort of strange defence mechanism.

There has also been a growing trend in recent years of southerners coming to the universities here who become 'staunch' Liverpool supporters - but I'm sure that has nothing to do with Liverpool actually being good in that time.

This really.

It’s about 50/50 in reality, it just means more reds decided to complete an online survey about Everton. Odd.
