RS outnumber us 2:1 in Liverpool, has it always been this way?

Had never trawled through our thread on Rawk until today, and came across this (link from a study from our Bramley Moore planning application)

In the survey of which team did you support, half were RS, and a quarter support us, “which broadly aligns with the split across the city”.

Has the 2:1 ratio always been this way? And if not, when did it change?

In Ireland it’s always been United, RS, Celtic, Rangers (unfortunately the last two usually based on religion), then a smattering of other clubs (usually when that particular team is doing well). I was drawn to big Nev (first game was in ‘91).

In my lifetime and this is honestly how I’ve seen it the prevalent shirt/tracksuit top/polo/scarf the city on non match days has always been blue. You see a few more RS ones these past few years but on the whole there always seems to be more Everton clobber on show. Just how I’ve seen it like.

Liverpool have more "fans", no doubt about that, but these fans include Jan from accounts who squeezes into a minty Crown Paints top to go down the pub to watch the Champions League final once in a blue moon and thinks Klopp is "boss" and Clive next door who loves the epic bantz with the "bitters" but has never been to Anfield in his life even though he lives 5 streets away.

Staunch fandom I reckon is quite equal, they (understandably I suppose) have loads more glory hunters.

hahaha oh yeah.

Unless they went out and asked ransom people on the street that were not wearing any football colors then there's no way to tell, I'd even suggest that they deliberately targeted more Liverpool fans as there'd be plenty of them willing to lodge a complaint, if you survey a bunch of them who are happy with the plans then you have some kind of counter argument with your survey. All that said I would be very surprised if there weren't many more Liverpool fans than Everton fans.
