Rousing defence of Kenwrong

Do you want to acknowledge that he's overseen us from being constant relegation material to regular top five? So, he's actually alright at his job then but there's loads of snides who would rather stay bevvying near the current ground than see us get investment for new, better players and stuff?

Yes he did a good job getting us out of the [Poor language removed] we were in. He oversaw a period in which we went from terrible to decent. What has he done beyond that?

The main point I'm getting at is that he has failed to increase the scale of the club. There is a reason nobody talks about Everton even when we finish well every year; because we are still run like a small time enterprise.

You usually invest some money for a return you know.

I note the huge line of investors lined up to take over.

As usual, its moan moan moan but no alternative plan.

They will make a return, the shares in the Club where bought for near £40m. So if they invested just say £60m, that would still be short of the "market value" of the Club, which is meant to be around the £150-200m figure.

The reason the huge line of investors arent there is simply because of the very high sale value the current board have placed on the Club.

Maybe if they werent being so greedy? Great blues tho.

Do you know how much the club is for sale at?

Ah, ok.

So shall I mark that down as more assertions?

The basic facts;

Kenwright saves the club from the peril of Peter Johnson
Kenwright appoints David Moyes - when fans were screaming for Andy Gray....
Kenwright gives the fans what they want and what they voted for, and builds a stadium.
Next, Kenwright doesn't bow to pressure and secures good investment.

In short, get the statue built.

Exactly. He's far from from perfect but there's far, far worse out there. People have extremely short and fickle memories.

They'll try to pick that apart with conjecture, assertions and rhetoric now.

They won't - because they can't. Which is why dave resorted to humour, to sidetrack.

Definitely in politics that dave.

I think if you want to look at the angry side of the debate - check out Kipper and NSNO. There are some angry folk there, more so than me after a 6-1 kicking. Are we saying that those lot are lacking in intelligence to formulate a decent argument? Or is it simply a case of - we are not top of the league, hence we are ****ed off!

it sounds to me like you are very upset at not getting a vote.

you are coming out with plenty of season ticket holders are holier-than-thou. a bit of a complex if you ask me. but it seemed a pretty obvious way of canvassing opinion level from the match going support.

if kirkby was such a bad option nobody was forced to choose it.
As I said, at the time my vote would probably have been a "yes" - so I'm not too sure of your logic there. Although, I've always felt it's fine for the Board to sound out the fans opinions but the board are supposed to be running the business & they should be deciding what's best for the club, even if it isn't immediately popular.

I'm not "coming out with plenty of season ticket holders are holier-than-thou" - you are dismissing the views of non-season ticket holders as though they are second class Evertonians.
Obviously it was the clubs choice, but I wouldn't have thought including members of official supporters clubs in the electorate would have been too complex, pretty obvious to me.

DK was a bad option - that's why less than half of those asked voted for it.

I can appreciate some concerns regarding Kenwright - but the vast majority for me are way off the mark and are founded on underlying cynicism.

He gets way too much abuse. If he secures good investment, history will judge him very well. The man who rid us of Johnson, installed an unknown manager, brought stability and hopefully, fingers crossed, secured long term sustainable investment.

I dont recall us being in danger? We had debts, but not as big as they are these days.

Kenwright appoints David Moyes - when fans were screaming for Andy Gray....

Considering he wouldnt know a good manager if he fell over 1, we shall call that luck.

Kenwright gives the fans what they want and what they voted for, and builds a stadium.

Thats not true is it, what the fans voted for is very different to what we might be getting.

Next, Kenwright doesn't bow to pressure and secures good investment.

I see no investment.

In short, get the statue built.

In short, sack the board.
