Ross Barkley

I've still got huge faith in him. I believe the team eshould be built around him as out of all our players he has the tools to be our matchwinner week in week out. Get him in a number 8 playing deeper than he usually does, with two midfielders who can cover him if need be, and three flyers up top on the break i think that plays best to his strengths
No way could or should we attempt to build a team around him. While he's a decent player to have in the squad and he can ,occasionally, do something special, he's had enough time to prove himself a consistent match winner and largely failed. I still hope he can make the step up, but in the interim we need a reliable quality player who can do what we expected him to do.

End looks to be coming for him sadly, Koeman really sounds like he's lost patience and you can't blame him as many fans feel exactly the same. We've tried every approach under more than one manager. Tough love, blind love, patience, different positions, none of it has made it consistently click with him Will be heartbreaking but when do you admit it's just never going to happen with the lad? And in all honesty, I'd rather we cashed in for £30-40m rather than keep him here and watch him become the next Osman.

Will we get 30m for him though..? I'd keep him unless he says he wants to go.

reckon Ron is putting the ball in his court.don't think his desire is an issue, Roberto didn't do him any favours by blowing smoke up his arse when it was a time he was developing. it seems with these new signings coming in so we're told, it's very much down to Ross to win his place, simple as that.

I want to see him shoot more. Results from Jan transfers will make or break him. At the moment he is neither playmaker or cdm but the resurgence of McCarthy definitely helped him. Schneiderlin could make all the difference with him and gana holding and Ross free to roam. Barry's legs meant Ross did more chasing than creating but he is still class.

Never leave Ross.

Ross > Ron all day, every day

Let's not forget he played pretty damn well for two thirds of last season, getting double figures for goals and assists in all competitions. At this stage of his career he also has more or less as good a goal scoring record as Gerard, lampard and scholes did at his age.

I can already see the future, we sell him, he does well at new club, we remain crap, ron gets sacked

Would be the most Everton thing ever

He's compeltley wasted playing for a manager who loves long ball tactics, the tactics basically neutralise his greatest strength, running from deep.

If we get schneiderlin then we need to have him and Gana either side of Barkley with 3 in front of Depay/Lukaku/Deulofeu and Barkley and Schneiderlin bombing forward.

No idea why koeman is making these comments, whats he meant to do isolated due to the stupid tactics?

Pass the ball, Ross. Don't put you head down and smash it on first contact, into the first defender, or the stands. Don't do little dribbles, or step-overs, or spins. Don't keep trying to recreate the Newcastle goal. Just look up, and pass the ball. And then everything will be fine.

Also, funny to see how lumping it forward, once to so many the blindingly obvious solution to all Martinez-ball, is now the blindingly obvious and only problem.

I hate it too, but lets at least try to be consistent...

Imagine if we swapped him for sissoko, scenes lol

That's a logical fallacy unless you know for fact it's the same people holding both viewpoints
