Ross Barkley

He seems like a player that has anxiety problems which would explain his inconsistency. That is something that is very difficult to overcome... we may never see how good he can be because he isn't mentally prepared. He certainly has the talent- just seems a panicky player
I want him to come good so badly but us wavo boys in general, are just a bit soft. Not enough grit.

Many on the board have given Ross stick over having low football IQ. Has anyone considered that much of Ross' struggles stem from the style clash between himself and Rom? It appears both would like to play completely different games.

How often have we seen Everton break out on the counter, only for a link up pass between one or the other to find the feet of an opponent with the other's hands up to the heavens in disgust, because he made a different run that wasn't spotted?

Personally, I'd like to see how Ross would fare with a striker that has the command over the ball to maintain possession in the final third, and the eye to pick a pass and enable more of our midfield to get forward. It would be interesting to see a center forward that was more interested in creating team goals than demanding the perfect pass to knock in a sitter.

IT WAZ ROM

You almost had me onboard until you mentioned our midfield and creativity in the same sentence!!!!

True, we don't have someone of Silva or Cazorla's intelligence, but players like Deulofeu, Barkley and Mirallas weren't always completely devoid of imagination. I can't even see Lukaku providing out balls with a bird's eye view of the pitch these days, no wonder they can't do it when they're down there.

He just looks disinterested and poor. He's not a kid anymore

Even his deminer is lacking. Look at his uncut scruffy hair. It doesn't mean anything on the pitch but to me he just seems to be not arsed in general about anything

Move him on now , flatters to deceive. Should be tearing the turf up . Instead he's propping the post up . Disappointing o_O

I'm glad that sense has prevailed about this lad. There was a ridiculous amount of hype, exaggeration and plain stupidity about how good he was. It's not helped him one bit.

Martinez was as big a culprit as anyone.

We'll replace with better.

There lies the problem though mate, he actually was that good, could he handle the pressure and attention that came because of it - well looks like he obviously can't.

Give him someone like a young Rooneys confidence and he would have been one of the best ever. Sadly think he will go down as one of the greatest ever what could have beens.

Lad needed the perfect manager who could have sorted his problems out and let his talent do the rest, but at 23 and with Koeman here the forseeable then it won't happen at Everton or maybe anywhere now...

Actually hate saying this but Klopp would have been the perfect manager for the lad out of ones around right now, look at what he's done with players with 50% the natural talent - got them believing in themselves and the team - not a perfect manager by a mile, but for certain players it isn't about having the best, it's about having the best for them.
