Ronald Koeman discussion

I'd agree with him with regard to deserving a point. But come on this is Brighton we are talking about. We were the equal of Brighton today, one of the favourites for and likely to be one of the relegated teams. It shows how far we have dropped our standards from last season.

I didn't get to see the game mate, but going by what a lot of lads seem to be saying, Koeman got what he wanted out of the game, a draw.

How? People keep diminishing everything Martinez did by saying it was Moyes team 1st year, and after that it was his...

Well precisely the same thing is happening with Koeman. So applying your same logic, Martinez deserves all the credit for last year.

Sorry I'll try explain myself better:

Moyes: Good defence
Martinez #1: Inherited a solid team and it showed
Martinez #2-3: Ageing players declined and the team evolving to his style made sure we had a horrendous defence
Koeman #1: Inherited a horrendous defence and somehow improved it
Koeman #2: Not sure what's happening.

What I was trying to say was comparing the first 45 games of the last two managers is a little unfair as one of them inherited a settled, decent team whereas the other didn't.

To be honest (putting annoyance aside) I don't really know what I want him to say anymore after performances like todays. If he's honest about how crap we've been in games then it hasn't had the desired effect on the players in the next game etc etc. If he says stuff like he has today then we (the fans) think he's deluded. Haven't got the answer to it other than to say, its his team, its his set up, and its performing very badly I'm afraid. And as a long term supporter of this great club its hurting my eyes (and my heart).

I just can't listen to him anymore now mate in his post match interviews, he's just as deluded as Martinez was in his interviews.

What can we do as fans to get rid of this waste of space?

Would the she&/e or Manchester clubs stand for this, do we just sit and wait for the likes of Barkley, mirellas, lookman etc to get sold and replaced with mediocre from this guy, don't forget this guy wanted kone from Sunderland.

I think next home game the fans need to let the board know we have had enough, too many blues just feel deflated and have no motivation for supporting this rabble that he puts out week after week

@COYBL25
I do understand the urge to sack him. However we are still only at the start of his second season and are trying to blend a number of new players into the team. Second seasons are notoriously difficult for most managers.
I would afford him more time based on his relative success in equally difficult circumstances at his previous club. It is obviously better for our club if the current manager can put right what is wrong with what is now his team than return to the start with a new manager.
I am willing to remain patient for a while longer yet.

Your thoughts after today's latest debacle against the mighty Brighton would be much appreciated ?

Going to try that myself (from now on). In terms of the team I just keep waiting for the game when we turn the corner but its a massive curving bend at the moment. Never ending. I wanted it to work for Ronald but think its nearly over.

We knew exactly what is happening in Koeman #2. He's been found out after Rom's departure.

Take Lukaku out of the equation in 2016/17 and we finish seventh, but with 52 points - only a five point improvement on Martinez #2-3

I can understand managers trying to put a brace face on things. And just maybe the pressure they are under 'clouds their judgement' with regards to their comments after the game. However koeman must be absolutely clueless with regard to how he sees things at the moment. We got a point despite the set up of the team today not because of it. Today was systematic of virtually every game this season, we looked disjointed and lacked pace and creativity.
It won't happen, but I'd love unsworth and royle to get that group of players to work with this week. The team and system would be unrecognisable from the one we have had to endure all season. Players would be played in their natural position and we would be well drilled and difficult to break down, yet still have a competitive edge to our game which would cause Arsenal problems. If something isn't working you change it, but obviously that doesn't apply to koeman at present.

The one thing I always liked about Koeman was his no nonsense, straight talking in interviews, now he's just the Dutch Martinez mate, always looking for excuses, blaming other factors in games, seeing good performances when we have in all reality been [Poor language removed].

By actually getting up and demanding change instead of going the game just to sit in silence for 90 mins and go home. We protested Martinez, no idea why we aren't protesting Koeman

My main thought is that I'm glad I couldn't go with my son to the match because of family stuff, and I don't envy his journey back.
On Koeman, he has now without doubt lost the overwhelming majority of the fans, and understandably so , he is currently failing. I fully understand people wanting him gone.
Personally I still would prefer him to be given more time. He is definitely a better manager than he is currently showing. I think he has been too ambitious in the amount of players he is trying to integrate and was definitely let down by the club in not securing the two players he wanted.
In the end it's now a question of how long the board hold their nerve. Presently I think he will get until Dec. at least to pull out of this nosedive.

At the expense of 0 cohesion, our 45m signing playing in the same space, and nobody else getting a scoring chance.

He scored a penalty, but was again largely awful today.

Our 45m signing who is apparently completely disrupted by having to play a shocking one position to the left of his "favourite".

Absolutely love this mental idea that Wayne Rooney's mere presence on the pitch is stopping Siggurdson from being even slightly decent, Klaassen from looking like a footballer, DCL from scoring goals, Gueye from dominating the midfield, Tom Davies hair from being nice, Baines from making a block or Williams from not being a useless biff.

Spoiler alert lads: it's not all Wayne's fault, he's actually doing what he's paid to do. His goals have been responsible for 5 of our 8 points this season. Without him we'd be goosed.

We shouldn't have to because the board should have already sacked him but I don't think there's any alternative to fans forcing the issue.
