I feel better now the flags are coming out, the musics uplifting and I've just realised, the future's bright.... wheres that takeover thread gone!

Im not sure, if Dempesy is 9 that we would have the budget for both and improve.

Depends on the fee for Rodwell.

If it was 15m upfront, we might have been able to get a right sided player in too.

But seems it may have been 12m, not sure I would blow 9 of it on Dempsey if it didn't allow us to improve the right hand side too.

Right side is a must for improvement

Surely we wouldnt be paying £9 million upfront to Fulham? I'd imagine it would be a down payment and yearly installments or whatever. If we could give them £3 mill upfront or something it would be a great signing. Thats what we probably would have been looking at anyway, but until now the money hasnt been there.

8 goals in 2008, 9 goals in 2009, 13 goals in 2010, 23 goals in 2011. Hardly a one year wonder, especially for someone who's not an out and out striker.

2 season ****ing wonder then

8 and 9 goals whoop de ****ing do

Dempsey is badly average and I hope the RS out bid us if we are really after him

We all know that there is one player who would instantly make a dramatic improvement to the side, and he is called Landon Donovan. He is also a right sided midfielder, just because he can also play elsewhere does not stop him from being a great right sided midfielder.

As for the Cahill/Dempsey debate. Well, the most Cahill ever scored in a season was 12 goals, and I believe Dempsey got about 23 last season, more than the Yak in his best ever season.

I've made my point on signing quality players who have reached 30 years old. Sometimes you reach the point when you have invested enough money on newly qualified practitioners, and you have to start paying a premium for top quality agency staff who have can hit the ground running.

If you have any ambition of finishing anything higher than 7th, then we really have reached that point.

Don't like being wrong do we? When is the last time we've had a midfielder score 9 goals? When is the last time we had more than one player score 9 in a season. It's a huge number for us.

And PLEASE name me another "badly average player" to have scored 23 goals in a season.

Hear Moyes will get a big chunk of that initial £12m to spend how he sees fit but to those asking don't know how much. Guess we'll see soon!

Even if its £8-10m, what does that buy you these days? Half of Jordan Henderson and Andy Carrols right foot

He used to play in more of a flat midfield. Since being pushed on behind striker he has had 2 great seasons. Especially last season. He is hardly average. When was the last time Everton Football Club had a player score 15-20 goals in a season. Especially one that isn't even an out and out striker!
