Roberto's Barkley Bid Comment

That is Radio City's Alan Irwin asking most of the questions. After Roberto's humorous remark about not letting anyone out on loan in January there is delayed laughter by most present and then Irwin says "I didn't think it was that funny".

I just don't think he got the joke!

To be fair, I think he thought they were laughing at his comment, not Roberto's...I could be wrong though. (I was wrong once before...)

Just when I thought I couldn't love him anymore, he goes and does something like that.........AND TOTALLY REDEEMS HIMSELF

Have i missed something? Why did he need redeeming? He's been brill.

These loan comments really get on my nerves! Like we'v borrowed half a team and are only doing well due to these players who will be off and leave us average! It's simply not the case.

We have 3 players on loan...

Barry - He will 95% be our player again next season. It's a loan because Barry wanted the cash from the last yr of his city contract. He's our player all but in name.

Delefuoe - Were not where we are because of him. He's added potential quality on the bench. His standard currently we could replace him, however he could even still be here next season.

Lakaku - Has made a difference, and we will miss him. But we will have to sign a striker at some point, was always going to be the case, RM has bought us a year! who knows who we will get to replace could even end up lakaku.

Stop panicking about the loans, there not quite as seems and not a massive deal
It's Deulofeu, and no we can't replace him to the same standard, Naismith just aint got the moves. Otherwise I agree with you about the loans comments.

I don't think I've seen Roberto put a foot wrong during interviews since he came here. Always positive, and being very articulate in a second language highlights the intelligence he has - the loan comment this morning had me rolling around the place laughing.

He really is proving be something else - long may it continue - both on and off the pitch!

You're going to pick him up on the easy to misspell Deulofeu and leave the double Lakaku without comment? The Barça kid's good but he's not irreplaceable.

regarding Baines - (while looking down at the table) he says there’s nothing to comment - but the financial stability at the club allows us to make football decisions. I reckon he’s off.

That wasn't Alan Irwin. He wasn't even there.

Did anyone else notice another subtly brilliant answer he gave?

When asked "Do you think this potential bid from United will have an affect on Ross", I was fully expecting a "no, no, no Ross is happy here, he's not looking to leave" type answer.

Bobby turned it on it's head. He said "It should do". Whaaaaaa? "It's a compliment". No we've heard the "compliment" thing before, but I just love that he took that question and instead of answering "no" he answered "yes" and explained why it was a good thing.

I think that is very illuminating into the way the man thinks and communicates to the outside world. 19 out of 20 managers in the prem would have answered that question no, and then gone into a lengthy discussion defending their club and why the player should stay. Bobby simple smiled and said "yes and it's going to be a positive impact on the player".

Honestly he's the Gold Standard.

I think its clear that martinez has been a natural fit for everton.

The team play an attacking passing game, attacks the opposition as a form of defence. He's able to attract a higher calibre of player too at everton than he has been able to before. Which he's taken advantage of fully. Plus has a decent youth setup which he can use.

He can run the club as he see's fit which, because he's a manager who knows the meaning of the word 'team', means he uses every facet of the club to push the club forward.

if anyone knows that he's reintroduced all the 'everton legend' photos and background at goodison and finch farm and heard him talk they'll know he's a natural evertonian.

the history of the club matches his outlook on how to play the game. passing teams to death and attacking the opposition regardless of who they are.

I'm not that gud at spilling either mate, please forgove me. As for Deulofeu, I don't think he's easily replaceable with the funds at our dipsosal, we're missing his impact already.
