'Roberto promised me Champions League' - remember how everyone laughed?

Everyone around us will spend decent money in Jan

We'll be lucky to spend a £30 Nando's voucher

To finish top 4 in that situation would be a massive achievement

Amazingly, Ginger Nut has just announced that he won't be in the market in January, because its the wrong time to buy, and he'll wait till next summer.
By which time, no doubt, he'll be trying to sign Tony Hibbert for Tranmere.

We should just enjoy the moment. As an evertonian in my early 20's this is arguably the best football we've been playing for my ENTIRE life.

Martinez appointment and the internet angst it caused just highlighted the frankly crap judgement of a lot of forum posters but that aside if we keep progressing at this rate it won't be top 4 we'll be challenging it will be the title!

But we won't, somewhere down the line we'll hit a bad patch but I couldn't give a monkeys just loving the EFC ride as God meant it to be - whatever happens

We played like a team that could attain Champions League in the past 3 games but it's still far too early to predict at this point

As Martinez himself said, let's see where we are in April. If we're in the top 4-8 and not far off the pace at that point, you never know

I'm just glad we're going for it. That's half the battle sometimes

I'll leave the aiming and targets to Martinez and the team.
When Martinez was appointed I decided that this was a year of transition- to me that meant allowing for a crap season now to improve in the next.
Needless to say the fact that we're playing so brilliantly makes me so happy, but this season is still transitional- so long as the team plays excellently, and Everton remain exciting to watch, I'll take any final position. Enjoying this so much at the moment.

I had this as a write-off transitional season, too. I dare not let myself dream about what comes next season.

We wont get 4th. Those four places have been nailed on all season for the two Manchester clubs (despite ginger's shortcomings they'll find a way) and Arsenal and Chelsea.

Very confident now though that we can pick up a Europa League spot if it goes down to 6th this year. And we need European football again to keep our profile up and players happy.

support and believe!

We out passed the best passers in the prem, bounced back.... as long as we dont get any injuries major ones we have a chance.

United? mate there awful. Rooney is the only decent player there now Van Persie wants off. I think the champs league for them has gone hate to say it but Liverpool are up there we're competing with chelsea tottenham and liverpool

Bit of a premature ejaculation, this thread.

I think if we do the dirty work now and swat aside the tosh, we can seriously talk about CL football being a likely achievement this year. In 7 games we'll have a clear picture of where we're at. We're defo in the mix for the time being though.

We could do with getting ahead of the sh*te and putting some distance between us and them now. That's the next step. It might not be as easy as we think though. Teams will set up to stop us playing. If we really are the real deal this year we will have an answer to that. We should do, with the players we have at our disposal, but we've yet to prove that consistently this year. If we can do that and avoid an injury crisis, then we certainly are the real deal and we can have threads like this.

At the moment we're on target for 70 points this season, if we keep up our current average of 1.8 point per game.
