Apologies if this has been raised pages ago since yesterdays original statement, but kenwright quoted today as stressing that martinez is "no more than on the list" ie, one of a few possibilities...makes me wonder

...this is certainly true. He also said he would use his instinct as this worked really well when appointing Moyes. There could be a twist in this one, especially as things are rarely straightforward with the Blues. Might be worth a £1 on somebody else whilst Martinez gets even shorter in the betting.
