Comparing this squad to Moyes' 03/04 one dear me. Light years apart.

Thank god Martinez wasn't on the managerial scene back then. We would have been praying for 39 points every season. Would have relegated us for certain. He had a good go at it last season with a team of internationals and a 30 mill striker.
Whatever way you view it the facts stand that Moyes nearly relegated us for the first time in 50 odd years with our worst points record for more than 40 years...even Walter Smith - quite easily the biggest abomination to ever darken the dugout - put 43 points on the board. Moyes really should have been sacked after that season but was given the benefit of the doubt...something for the lynch mob to bear in mind now perhaps.

Factually correct, but the football under Smith was possibly some of the worst football ever witnessed at Goodison.

He should have been taken out and beaten with his mate's baseball bat for the horror show he produced. It was Everton's Dark Ages. I think Moyes got a bit of space after that second season because we were all still convalescing from the Smith 5 years, and the prospect of someone similar stepping back in would have had the Samaritans run off their feet.

ooooh, a rare shot across the bow from the "PULIS IN!!!" crowd. From School of Science to School of Remedial Stone-Bludgeoning!

Embrace the Stone Age! And stop using complicated words like "embrace!"

Ooga-Pug-Pug!

Don't worry, there's not a single person here who actually believes that you'd consider us playing like West Brom just did every weekend to be an improvement.

I don't understand a word of what you just typed

What did we honestly expect when Roberto was appointed?

It was a poor board decision as he should not have even been considered.
People drum on that he kept Wigan up longer than he should but ultimately he did fail.
Don't blame the clown in charge, blame the real clown in charge.
what was your opinion after his first season in charge? i would say most people thought he had performed brilliantly. not you?

I remember when he played Lukaku on the wing against Arsenal and he destroyed them and I thought wow this man is going to change our club.

Where is that guy?

I'd support him as manager

He absolutely filled his kecks when we got beat 6-3 by Chelsea and ever since then he won't dare break away from his tried and trusted formation with one or no wingers

My name is CynicalBlue for a reason, I'm not taken in by one season hence why Martinez's one success at Wigan didn't sway me into wanting him either.
