Roberto Martinez discussion

Ha ha. All those target men at Everton Bent Mcfadden Johnson Yakubu Saha Jelavic. Watch out its a basket ball team. Then there were all those grock midfielders: Osman Pienaar Arteta Mirallas Donovan Carsley Cahill. Proper athletes all of them, absolute physical monsters just kicking the opposition up and down the pitch every match. Then those huge full backs, Baines Coleman Hibbert Valente, used to hate the way they were dead tall and just stayed back all the time defending.
..and yet we were known throughout football in his time here, and rightly so, as a route one team.

Moyes idea of attacking football was to punt it from the halfway line and hope to pick up second balls off the head of Cahill/Fellaini. That was it. That was the master plan.

An utter dullard of a manager.

Yes he's won so much for us Bobby
I wonder how Moyes managed to achieve what he did with that terrible football
I don't have time to check right now but I would guess that Moyes also set our record premier league points total during his tenure. And he got 4th place which lets face is a bigger achievement than qualifying for the Europa , record points total or not.

Yes we didn't make the most of it but given you can forgive Bobby based on officials failings and what ifs I'm guessing the same applies there for Moyes
Yes he did. And Everton's worst ever PL points total of 39 points.

So, just to recap:

Moyes holds the record of Everton's worst ever PL points total.
Martinez
holds the record of Everton's best ever PL points total.

Moyes holds the record of Evertons best ever premier league finishing position

Yeah but we all know it doesn't count if you finish 4th by playing hoofball. It doesn't count if you win anything unless you play Roberto Martinez's spellbinding brand of football. It's a known fact that Atletico Madrid got their 13/14 title taken off them and handed to Barcelona because they played the correct and moral way that season, rather than hoofing it long and kicking people like Atletico did

Well, we're only 4 points off Moyes' stupendous worst total of 39 points, so we should be ok there.

Btw, Moyes' 39 points in 2003/04 was Everton's worst season since 1980/81.

Nearly killed us stone dead that season.

Comparing this squad to Moyes' 03/04 one dear me. Light years apart.

Thank god Martinez wasn't on the managerial scene back then. We would have been praying for 39 points every season. Would have relegated us for certain. He had a good go at it last season with a team of internationals and a 30 mill striker.

lol lol...where you guys get hold of these gifs is a mystery to me...but they're bloody funny!
Personally speaking, I'm just so over the Martinez discussion (and Moyes???...really)
This club, our club, is one I am proud to be a supporter of. Both Martinez and Moyes have lent weave to its tapestry... but we need to look forward

If we had the squad we had in 2004 right now, we would but this seasons Villa under Martinez, done without a hope before Christmas.

He managed the team like a Scotsman would be expected to...
Moyes ensured we never got relegated - NSNO?

ooooh, a rare shot across the bow from the "PULIS IN!!!" crowd. From School of Science to School of Remedial Stone-Bludgeoning!

Embrace the Stone Age! And stop using complicated words like "embrace!"

Ooga-Pug-Pug!

Don't worry, there's not a single person here who actually believes that you'd consider us playing like West Brom just did every weekend to be an improvement.
