Roberto Martinez discussion

There were definitely some. I'll see if I can find them
They're all banned haha
Something tells me if Garry Monk was called Diego Rodriguez and roberto martinez, a man who got relegated with wigan, was called Frank Davidson people would be of a differing opinion.

Funny how a sexy European name makes someone look that much better. Fact is Monk's currently doing a fantastic job with a swansea side that lost 3-4 of its key players this summer, and brought in some decent players in Sigurdsson and Montero.

Koeman would be number one choice but we wouldn't have a chance right now.

Del - That's why he went to Sevilla and didn't stay for the second season, and we had to end up buying him.

Eddie Howe, like Gary Monk always has more than just plan A.

In terms of Martinez, as one of Ireland's greatest philosophers once said, "it's good, but it's not right"

I'll judge after he has the new players brought in but today we played like the everton of last season- something which the "it's only 1 game" can't or won't grasp.

Martinez could learn alot from Gary Monk, very underrated manager who seems to recruit well and play a good blend of nice football but can mix it up and battle.

I understand that but I still think Kenwright would take him back. One summer and a few bad decisions doesn't ruin 10 years and the fact he hasn't taken another English job suggests to me he's waiting for the Everton job. I think it's also why the Martinez fans are so sensitive to Moyes comparisons because they know this too.

I hope Martinez can get us firing because while it isn't working at the moment I don't really want to go back to Moyes either. Gary Monk would be my choice but I think Liverpool or even Arsenal might be after him when they want a change.

If we win next game were in a really good position compared to before todays games.

Fingers crossed as this could launch us nicely into the christmas period for an assault on the top 4. Especially with Baines back and on the dead balls.

@AsiaAsia82 is very much alive.

Very much alive,

Still not 100% sold on Martinez, what with Howard still in goal, no matter how much he can't catch, limited knowledge on how to see out a win when even 2 goals ahead, still no Plan B eg playing Kone away, when it's clear the opposition have sussed the hole in front of Galloway,

and still no back up for Rom.

I still can't understand how Ossie is picked ahead of more younger players.

Granted the Mori signing and Galloway signings were good, but not McGeady and others.

So if Monk or Howe had inherited Moyes' team and spent as much as Roberto then maybe they might have done better.

but its all hypothetical

Monk has just got out of the habit of winning.
