Would that be Baines on the left, aching to be king ?

I think this is the most bemused I've ever been to an Everton managers comment.

I expected evasiveness or a tad reaffirming of comments...

A staunch defence and making Everton's most senior, respected pro look like a prat... Well.

'Baines' is a UK twitter trend because of it and well, that leads to the media taking note...

Easy

Management department SIMPLES !!!!!

Now for the Middle East Peace process ;)

I wouldn't argue against anything you've written there.

I would normally look at this reply and say 'ohh good we have some common ground to work on', but I then see the name ELONG and assume its sarcasm lollollol

But where are you getting this 'all the blame' from. My personal point of view is that things need to get better as a club. The manager is the one individual who usually takes full responsibility in terms of his job. But doesn't mean he's right or wrong about everything. Or that the players don't shoulder responsibility. And in some ways it needs pointing out more because they may feel sheltered from it
You suggested that the 'team get it right'. For me, the team implies the players should shoulder the major responsibility to rectify the problem.

Which in itself is partly true as the players aren't blameless as I've repeatedly said. The players can help fix the situation; again I've said this.

Apologies if I have misinterpreted the meaning of your comment. Nevertheless, I do place the burden of our problems at the managers feet .

As such he should play a huge part in fixing this situation. For it is he who chooses the starting XI and it is he coaches the players on a daily basis.

It is Martinez who dictates how we play. It is the manager who has regularly came out with baffling comments in both pre and post conference.

Baines may have shown some dissent in his conference, and Martinez isn't entirely to blame, but overall he's responsible for much more.

Let's not forget that this isn't a short-term or singular incident; rather we've seen a steady decline over almost two seasons now.

from the 90's yeah. but i never really expected us to win anything under him because i don't think he has "it" to win anything major. i have higher expectations of martinez to be honest, i expect this manager and squad to win things. everyone's different i suppose.

Based on what ? Martinez won the fa cup and moyes never ?
I guess Martinez must also be a utter failure because he was also relegated - moyes wasn't.

I cannot see Martinez surving here yet alone Manchester United or Barcelona were everyone (including Martinez) believes he will end up.

Wow every response to that tweet is get a new manager.

now twitter has to be taken with a pinch of salt but the tide has definitely turned against the man

A good manager-
  • Would utilise the squad to their current strengths. No square pegs in round holes
  • Adapt tactics to the opposition
  • Identify reasons for conceeding- setpieces, lack of fitness- address them
  • Build a solid defence before moving onto attack
  • Introduce youngsters stepwise, not blow hot air up their ass then blame their inexperience
  • Protect his team by taking responsibility not blaming everyone else
I can't even be arsed fuming at him any more though. Have a lovely Thursday everyone!

I mentioned this to my grandfather a few weeks back, its gone from moans and groans, to its a poor run of form, to things can only get better to I cba anymore.

When it gets to CBA stage, then you know things are bad, there is no more excuses, no more anger, hurt, frustration or confusion. Just a horrible state of CBA and eventually acceptance.

He's done himself no favours. If the match going fans are anything like in here in their response to his attack on Baines, look out.
