Robbed by the referee

Irrelevant how a team plays, the referee is supposed to be impartial and aid the game. He was inconsistent, panicky and cowardly.

I think Man City deserved their win but had we had our pen and scored, it would have been a different game. Had they not had that stupidly soft pen, it would have been a different game. Without consistency it's no longer 11 vs 11, and thus no longer fair, and sport that isn't fair isn't sport, it's just a fast way to ruin a f*cking weekend.

After the Cardiff game as well, I'm just furious. Martinez needs to lodge a complaint or something because it's hard enough winning games as it is in this league.
Agree with this. It is possible to talk about the ref as a an individual aspect of the game without conflating it with the result.

I think we could have had more than one pen - Lukaku getting pushed over, Naismith brought down in the box before that and they never even replayed the Barkley incident on the RHS (for us) of the box which could well ahve been a pen.

I though Silva could have been booked more than once and Milner could well have walked instead of getting booked.

Shocking display from the ref.

dont believe in normally blaming ref we were poor in s/h, but even halsey was saying the ref had lost the plot pen 4 us + not for them may have changed the game if we had scored.

deserved to lose today,, but the ref gets his decisions correct, we get our pen, and they don't, plus they should have been down to ten as silva committed two blatant yellow card offences before he got booked on his third go, and its a different kettle of fish........ but then again if my aunt had a pair of balls she'd be my uncle!

I agree the ref was poor but we were not very good today hoped for a draw but the 2nd half we were poor all over the park!

He got so much wrong! We may still have lost if he'd reffed the game properly but at least we would have had a chance. Goals change games though and things would have been very different in the second half if we were 2-1 up rather than 2-1 down.

Errr, I admit, I was at the game so don't have the "benefit" of watching endless replays but they showed Coleman's challenge on the screen after the game and that defo was a soft penalty, but are we sure that Lukaku deserved a pen ?

I'd say Citeh were good value for their win overall. The ref seemed poor to me, but, from where I was stood ( which was a p poor view ) I'd have said his decisions were equally poor and didn't make much difference.
