These 'revolutionaries' in Ukraine are far right, Hitler worshipping National Socialists. The opposition may not all have been but the hard core who toppled the regime by confronting the security forces were from a variety of fascist groups.

As you know mate i live in Russia now, theirs no right or wrong side in this, the west is interfering in a more subtle way in the Ukraine than the Russians are - but interfering none the less - just less visible,, as a former major part of the soviet state, the Ukraine is one of those places that its a red flag for the west to get involved in, doing so its basically provoked a response from Russia, entirely a predictable state of affairs tbh

We've all seen the reactions to that mate in the lessons of the past, Chile, El Salvador and Nicaragua to name a few cases of American interference and attitude that Latin America is their backyard and they control what happens their throughout the 70-80's

I don't condone the Russian actions currently, what i do think though is that the western media is just as biased as the Russian media in the reporting and slant of such situations, thankfully the nets a good thing in these regards for those who want to not follow everything they see on itv, bbc etc

We reap what we sow, unfortunately it looks like it could cost Western Ukraine big time.

America totally reneged on assurances given to Russia upon the reunification of Germany that there would be no further NATO expansion on the Russian doorstep. Military activity has furthered that resentment towards the West inside Russia. What would America do if Russia was to begin training Mexican troops? As Patrick Buchanan stated in 'A Republic, Not an Empire' America should have assisted Russia, not rub its nose in it. We're now at a crossroads, totally of America's making, where she faces a dilemma - is the loss of Ukraine worth risking confrontation with the second most dangerous country in the World?

What the Russians are doing is probably gonna end up stopping a civil war not starting one mate, Tymoshenko deserves much of the blame for inciting further protests after she was released, as she failed with her long time aim of joining the EU through the electoral system, she saw the opportunity to use the protests to further those aims - making a bad situation even worse

It was a must. 50% of the people are sick of criminals in the charge. They want out...out of being ruskie puppets. Civil war might be the only way...but it wont turn to that. There will be new elections n s••• like that.

Is it not the case that Ukrainians feel closer culturally to Russia? I'm not an expert in this area, but hard to believe there is a majority of Ukrainians in favour of alliance with the West if those goals couldn't be achieved through the ballot box?
