Confirmed Signing Richarlison

Mosh is backing his boy Marco, just like he did for Koeman. If he can get a player the manager wants he goes and gets him, value be damned.
Can't really criticise Mosh can we, unless we give him stick for selling Stones and Rom but both wanted out anyway.

This doesn't make any sense.

He plays for Watford, we can't buy him from Brazil for less.

The manager wants Richarlison, not just some random bloke from Brazil.

The point was that last season Watford were able to scout out a player in Brazil, sign him cheaply and now look like they are going to make a ludicrous profit on him.

That is what we used to do, before the structure of our club was professionalized / modernized / brought into the 21st century and we ended up throwing away tens of millions of pounds on players that we would be lucky to get half the money back on.

As for "the manager wants Richarlison" - why then are we only trying to get him in now, a couple of weeks before the season starts, and for a price that screams "panic buy"?

Because he will have wanted to have assessed the rest of the squad?

How is it a panic buy when he has already worked with the player?

We still do buy young players as well...

Just on the Watford forum and one of their fans have just claimed we aren't a step up from them.

Their manager threw a hissy because he wanted to come here and we're taking one of their players for £50m. Not to mention that I don't even know when they last finished above us in the league.

Incredible delusion.

Why do you want to go back to the days of shopping the bargain bin?

Why do you want to go back to the days of shopping the bargain bin?

Because our record with those sort of players - those deemed not good enough, or failures, or who have fallen out with their manager, or who play in lower leagues - is far better than it is buying "the finished article".

Or to make another point - we are an established Premier League club and our scouting network appears to extend as far as you can get on the Eurostar.

Everton have agreed a £44million deal with Watford for winger Richarlison.
The 21-year-old Brazilian will undergo a medical on Monday after the clubs finalised terms on Saturday.
The fee for Richarlison will represent an incredible profit for Watford who paid just £11.5million to Fluminense last summer.

Everton have agreed a fee for Richarlison from Watford in a deal worth up to £44million
Talks over a deal took shape in London on Thursday after Watford showed initial resistance to sell to the Goodison Park club following their pursuit of Watford's former manager Marco Silva.
Richarlison, who attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham earlier last season, was left out of Watford's friendly with Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday as he finalised terms with Everton.

Marco Silva played a pivotal role in tempting the Brazilian to Merseyside and is also hoping to convince Ademola Lookman to stay despite his desire to play first team football with Red Bull Leipzig.
Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick said: 'We would like to see the player with us, it's well known he would like to come.

New Everton manager Silva is a huge admirer of the 21-year-old Brazilian forward
'But he's Everton's, and as long as we can not reach an agreement with them, he's still part of Everton. It does not help us to give more information at this stage.'
Everton had held talks over a move for another Brazilian winger, Malcom from Bordeaux, as a precaution, but his entourage are in negotiations with Roma.
Everton also hope to finalise the £18m signing of Lucas Digne from Barcelona after Marcel Brands travelled to Spain on Friday to finalise negotiations. Brands also wants to recruit Colombia centre-back Yerry Mina.
Though the Colombian has initially said he will fight for his place, Barca only have three non-EU slots and they want to allocate one of those to Willian should he sign from Chelsea. The other two are assigned to Philippe Coutinho and Arthur Melo.
However, Coutinho is also looking to obtain Portuguese nationality through his marriage to wife Aine which could alleviate that iss
