Return of fans to stadiums to be controlled by Ballot

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see this in the PL.
I would be.

Unless things got really out of control it will carry on.

Last time there was no testing, so it had to stop, but now there's testing 2 or 3 times a week.

I see no reason why The Prem will stop, currently, things could change of course.

Doesn't matter how much you test. If enough are positive they cant function.

There’s no way they will suspend the prem again. It sounds odd to say, but we know a lot more and can manage it a lot better now than we could 9 months ago.

Had my first game back last night, for anyone who hasn’t been yet you are not missing much. Had to be in there 1hr 45min before KO (think I turned up before most players), got given a bottle of water and a mince pie to keep me going. Felt like I had hyperthermia by the time the match had finished.

The result didn’t help and I’m glad I’ve been now as I would’ve been wondering what it’s like; but the overall experience wasn’t pleasant. I won’t be entering anymore ballots till it’s back to normal, or they can at least open some of the concourse so you can get a hot drink.

The performance certainly didn't help the atmosphere or the experience, but I was happy I went and had the opportunity to see us play in the flesh again.*

All credit to the club for making entry a smooth process and they were robust on those with no tests or out of date tests, which was good to see.

Next time, I would recommend advantage of the fact you can take your own food in as I took a bacon butty and a flask full of coffee with a drop of Scotch.

*Doubt we will be able to much longer.

Yeag I definitely should have took a flask and food in with me, I didn’t think we would be allowed though. There were people bringing in meals from the chippy with them, was starving when I could smell their scran!

I don’t get the having to wear a mask on the stands and no concourse being open, though? It’s such a weird rule. It’s like they’ve just brought a blanket set of rules out without letting clubs try and bring in measures to do it all safely.

I suspect to obtain a safety certificate and for a police presence, the club have to enforce the wearing of a mask, which to be fair I'm actually quite happy with

Only ourselves and the RS are able to have fans in the entire PL and with cases rising in the city it might not last that long; for me, the more we do the better.

The concourse is a weird one because you can get a pint at Analfield, so perhaps it's the club being overly cautious and reduce staff numbers etc.

I wouldn't want to be squeezed in the Upper Street End concourse with the virus as it is - each to their own, though.

The testing centres seemed to be overwhelmed. Those on the Wirral were closing the queues at 0920 today!! Predicted 4 hour waits.
This doesn't sound like an experience i want!!

I suspect they wil just postpone games. I think the PL will be very loathed to suspend the league, as it makes it very hard to return,. With the Euro's going when they are, it just becomes really difficult.

The question is going to be European games. That situation could get very interesting.

I don’t mind wearing a mask when out and about, I just don’t really see the point in wearing one in a stadium which is essentially outdoors, when you don’t have to wear one in a restaurant.

The concourse being closed is ridiculous, could quite easily put a procedure in place that would keep people safe and still be able to sell refreshments.

Can’t see it changing anytime soon, either.

TBH, I'm past caring whether matches go ahead or not. It's a complete circus with zero integrity.
