In the end, a Championship defender panicked and conceded a ridiculous penalty and two Championship players missed from the spot - one of whom did the same thing in a previous play-off.

The lack of quality caught up with us.
 
Gutted for Coleman they never got through but honestly Denmark would have beaten them they look really good even against Scotland you knew they were well drilled and play some good stuff

I saw Turlough O Connor and his brothers Mick (Soxie) and Padraig playing in the late 70s and 80s.

They each had very different styles, but useful in any team.

Soxie made his name in their native Athlone and Rovers expected great things when in 1985 he joined the squad that won four titles, three doubles from 83/4 to 86/7, but unfortunately it never really worked out for him at Milltown.
