BBC said before that it was the defence secretary's bodyguard that killed Masood and not Parliamentary security?
Seems a bit strange, given the unarmed pc was killed at what should be one of the most secure buildings in the country.
This again raises the issue of how far we arm those, charged with protecting public/private citizens?
Do we want a more visible armed police force, or does this lead to ever increasing levels of 'people with guns'?

I see yesterday brought out the blatant racists from their caves for a day.

The social media photo's of the woman walking past an injured person and using her phone apparently told some people "all they needed to know" about muslim people in general lol

She could have been letting her loved ones know she was safe, could have been calling an ambulance etc etc.....but no! she had a head scarf on and was not white skinned, so she apparently summed up muslim extremists everywhere.

No wonder some of them hate us!

Even the Daily Fail had to call out this as the BS it was.

Yeah, she looks incredibly callous doesn't she?

Idiots.

A long time ago, I was in Burma. My friends and I were working for the local government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders by bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. So, we went looking for the stones. But in six months, we never met anybody who traded with him. One day, I saw a child playing with a ruby the size of a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing them away. Why? Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
You got a lot of loyalty for a hired gun.

Reports that the armed officers on the vehicle gate left their sentry point with the gates in an open position to investigate the initial crash.

This is how he was able to enter the outer-security cordon before eventually being stopped, so there'll be questions whether he passed them.

And now another car runs into people in Sweden..

Just can't stop this type of terrorism.
Very true. In Ireland, the decommissioning of weaponry was largely symbolic. What was most important was the decommissioning of a mindset.

ISIS is too large to have any sort of command structure over these attacks. We are seeing lunatics driven by blind hatred trying to make themselves relevant. ISIS are only too happy to claim the attacks and further their reputation.

Difficult to know how to counter this type of attack as it is new to the western world.

Probably the best explanation of the peace process.....

That is the thing though, it isn't new to the western world.

In many ways IS are much more of a Western phenomenon than they are an Islamic one - all them well-shot propaganda videos, high profile attacks deliberately designed to gather maximum media exposure, use of advertizing techniques, stylized uniforms, brands and logos, even genocide and ethnic cleansing (which was never really a feature of any previous Islamic conquest, especially the one led by Mohammed and the Rashidun caliphs) etc. The religion has firmly taken a back seat to the rest of it.

I agree with all that but I more meant the lone wolf attacks by people fully aware they are on suicide missions.
