Why would Chelsea fire Potter only to bring in Lampard to see out the rest of the season? They should have kept Potter and fired him after the season. Just irresponsible choices all around, no matter how you try to look at it.

It gives them the chance to identify and offer the job to their target as soon as the season is done.
