Really bizarre this.
£35mil for a 17yo with no 1st team games under his belt.

It’s crazy how your nationality can change how we perceive value for money...

If we were offering the same amount for a 17yo Burnley player with no 1st team apps, there’d be a meltdown on here!

Not slating the deal, just pointing out how weird it is.
If the Burnley midfielder was amazing, he'd get even more.

How many 17yo Burnley players have been named as the next great generational talent of one of the biggest talent hotbeds in the world?

How many English players have period?

Beyond that, it's not easy to break into that Flamengo side, they are pretty stacked. That might change with a couple midfielders moving on, but we shall see.

I think Moshiri wants to make a statement signing and no one wants to play for a team without champions league football so he's going about it with a kid the whole world wants. This would be a typical Brands signing in Holland as well

It depends though. Generally you would be right but if the kid was captain of the u17s and rated higher than say Sancho, and I read an article saying Reinier is rated at highly as that Vinicius at Madrid, we might be ok with it.

It's still completely nuts. But I the nationality changes the excitement level more than anything. I think most people would see this as crazy for any nationality.

If we sign him he's dropping the Jesus and just going by Reinier. He has to. It's too good of a name. I think in Brazil he already does this.

When Rooney was coming through, we all knew about him in the youth teams...

It looks to be the same thing with this guy and not only that but the european media have been linking him to massive clubs for over a year...

Hes got over 280,000 instagram followers which seems insane to me...

If we were after 'the new Rooney' and the fee was £35mil i think everyone would be excited as we would all have heard of him or be able to read another teams forum to learn about him...as its local.

As Reinier is in Brazil were all surprised at the size of the fee....but its Brands market and he will know how good this player is now and his potential.

Every article/snippet says hes potentially world class and a once in a generation talent...

Richarlison signing could be a snowball effect as he will be more than happy to tell others how Silva is like a father figure + helped him settle in England and play for Everton and Brazil.

The boy would have to be daft not to look at any offer we make seriously.
