This is the most ludicrous transfer story ever.

We are desperate for a decent striker - 2 have been sold in the last week for around the same amount as this kid.

We didn't go for either but are going to buy for £40 million a totally unproven kid who has never kicked a ball in this continent.

If we were City then maybe , just maybe this signing would make sense but otherwise it is absurd.

Or maybe we'll sign a striker as well? I for one will never mind us paying for one of the brightest young talents in world football

The way I see it is if it's looking unlikely to sign either the CF or the right winger Marcel is alleviating the pressure on future spending by getting Iceland's replacement now, giving us more time on one of those two roles. Obviously this guy needs time though. Siggi is getting on and the 10 role will be a priority next summer.
