Realistic position in the League

We have a starting 11 which can challenge for the top 4, but not the squad. We will get injuries during the season, and depending who gets injured will have a massive baring on our performances. If a center midfielder gets injured, we have the depth to cover for a few weeks. If Baines or Jelavic get injured, we don't.

The UEFA cup should definitely be our aim this season.

4th place is realistic, If we can get the wins at Goodison we are expected to, and the fact that we have goals and creativity with the signings of Jelavic, Naismith, Pienaar and Mirallas(who combines both), I believe this will be a season to remember, when you consider you have Mirallas and Naismith to come in on top of the performances from last night, this is the most excited I've felt about Everton in a long time, it's a bit surreal really making three positive signings and starting off the season with a bang.

Positive knee-jerks are just as bad as negative ones.

That said, 6th should really be the minimum going by the quality we have on the books. We should finish above Newcastle and Liverpool in my opinion.

Not sure if we will though. To be honest I'd take 7th again if this time it meant Europe. The last couple of times we've been unlucky with teams outside the top 7 winning a cup.

We always seem to play catch up with teams fighting for UEFA, so hopefully this season we can challenge for a UEFA place this season and a cup run would be great.

Should qualify for Europe if we dont get too many injuries, hopefully get to Wembley too

Here, here brother. Although I still have that fear that exists deep down in every Evertonian ;)

I don't see why 4th isn't possible.

Absolutely this^^.
We had a run of form last season from january that would've put us in the top 3. Considering we still have all the players (except an underperforming [but much loved] Tim Cahill, and a potential Jack Rodwell) we have now brought in two players in Naismith and Mirallas who will give us an extra attacking dimension.
Barkley, Vellios, Junior and dare I say it Anichebe will all be called on and are very good young players to have on the bench and if Moyes can pull off another Arteta/Pienaar loan deal there is no reason we can't maintain a good run till our season starts in november, and then when Donovan and A.N. Other arrive after Christmas we will have a squad that can compete at the top(ish) end of the league.

Nurse, pass the Valium.

If Darron Gibson starts every game we'll win the league.

Everyone thought Gibson was ****e at United. His own fans, opposition fans. Among the most ridiculed players in the league, can only think of Heskey who got the piss taken more. I'm ashamed to say I was a bit gutted when we signed him.

Moyes should get a lot of credit for spotting the potential in him, and for £500k as well. That's one thirtieth of Joe Allen.
