...a large part of the problem is that players have just been bought, so listing a group of targets is not the answer in my opinion. It’s why I very rarely have a view on new signings, the important point is that the Manager and DoF want that player to fit a playing strategy.

Yes, yes, and yes. If I had a clue what our overall identify was and what the heck we were trying do tactically, I'd know a lot better whether any of these guys were good buys. Lots of the guys we bought were okay purchases in isolation, but that's not how this sport works.
