Re-claiming the city of Liverpool

Ive had a few conversations on Sunday and since that it was fantastic to see so many blues in town .

The location makes it perfect , particularly at this time of year , and every pub was packed which was amazing . I’m not a colours wearer but it was nice to see so much blue , shirts and otherwise .

We all need to fall into our new matchday routine and there are loads of pubs available . I’d prioritise the ones that are genuinely blue rather than those jumping on our Everton cash cow but either way there are plenty to choose from.

By seasons end we’ll be settled into matchday day plans and I can’t see any way this blue domination of the city doesn’t last . I certainly hope it does because it was a sight to behold, wherever you looked . Interestingly I also ran into a lot more acquaintances Sunday than Sunday on most match days .

Roll on Everton and us maintaining this going forward because it’ll be huge for the future of the club

Someone mentioned the other day about seeing a load more blue shirts out and about and I have to agree. Around the city centre you obviously see a lot of red shirts, many are clearly tourists with their LFC megastore bags. Around the city region though there definitely seems to be a massive increase in people wearing EFC gear, especially kids wearing kits.

Love it.

Years ago a mate of mine from London, Millwall fan, used to go regularly to Liverpool (the city) to work. He once told me "Look Ged, don't want to upset you but I have been in Liverpool on many saturdays and when LFC play it is packed with fans, when EFC play there are hardly any in town". I told him, yep, because when we play most of our fans go to Goodison from home, no need for most to go into the city centre. When they play, many of their "fans" are in hotels, or come from the airport, or arrive at Lime St station. They then go in their city centre shops, and restuatants, etc."
He then got it.
So, now, with the new ground location, that has changed a bit, right?

As has already been mentioned - be interesting when the international reds are in town for the derby and it'll be swarmed with blues this time
