It was certainly one that happened
The days of Alan Harper filling in everywhere are long gone Eggs. We should have 2 specialist players for each position like every decent team in the league. I'm pleased for Armstrong and his future looks bright but he's filling gaps we shouldn't have except in an injury crisis.
Tarkowski and Keane are both at the end of their careers and I'd hope we'd be looking for at least 1 if not 2 young centre halves although I see O'Brien and Branthwaite as our centre back pairing for the next 5 years. If George impresses I can see us signing him and selling or loaning out Dibling. I loved Harper and Richardson (too young for Sandy Brown) and the likes of James Milner have proved their versatility, but the modern game is so fast, non-specialist players tend to struggle, look at Szoboslai for the rs when they tried to play him at right back.….thats a different issue and one you’d hope we can eventually address but I do think it’s very useful to still have players with the versatility to cover a number of positions.
Thinking about the future, we could have a CM pool of Garner, Armstrong, Rohl, Iroegbunam KDH and Alcaraz. That is very decent from a quality and age perspective. CBs we have a pool of Branthwaite, O’Brien, Tarkowski and Keane to see us through the next few seasons. Dibling still to prove his effectiveness but we’ll have scope in wide positions if you add Ndiaye and George.
It leaves the long standing issue of strength in depth at full back and central striker. In the meantime, players like Sandy Brown, Alan Harper and Kevin Richardson still have a place in the modern game.
if summer was a 7 this is a 1 or 2

I'm predicting the 0 voters are entirely made up of those who have never been to watch Everton or arl farts who used to sit in the park end.I think what this poll proves is some want to be performative angry, some want to be annoyingly happy, and there’s some reasonable blues in between all that.
Not that super my man slaging off fellow blues we all are going to get oldI'm predicting the 0 voters are entirely made up of those who have never been to watch Everton or arl farts who used to sit in the park end.
I voted 10 cos I'm a super bloo.
What if we run into the same issues we did last summer? No European football and the inability to attract much better players which is what we need to progress? I am only stating what the manager has said.
