How did Everton do in this January’s window?

Based on the rumours that flew around in January - and I realise that gets me off to a shaky start already - it would appear there were opportunities for RBs that we chose to pass up. That's a bit mad. Otherwise, we signed an exciting, young winger who may or may not have pace, recalled Hazza Armstrong who looks the business and would have sold Dwight but for a last minute heel turn by Palace. Can't grumble too much at that lot.

Clear to me that they didn't want to trust Moyes with the money and that they plan to (or are already in agreement with Moyes himself) move him upwards or out. All seems aligned to him taking the Celtic job bearing in mind they have O'Neill in his 70's keeping the seat warm.
Makes sense for Moyes too....a couple of winnable trophies before he hangs up his cardigan.

I picked 4

Lost McNeil Transfer so loss of future transfer fee
Grealish injured led to George transfer
No left or right back
Should have sold Beto while his stock is high enough
Definitely should have gotten another striker in

Now that the window has closed, I hope we see the following for the rest of the season:

- sufficient minutes for Patterson and Aznou at fullback so we can determine once and for all whether to sell or retain
- a decent run for Armstrong in his right position (defensive mid) now that we’ve curtailed his loan
- a proper chance given to George and Dibling in wing / forward positions to mitigate the over-reliance on NDiaye now that Grealish is injured
- a chance for Branthwaite and O’Brien to establish a partnership at CB - they are the future

Knowing Moyes we won’t see all of the above but here’s hoping!
I hope Moyes has had the same bullet points emailed to him by Kinnear this morning.

Not many clubs have spent in this window. I switched on sky for all of two minutes and they were dragging the arse out of about two or three transfers.

Either 4 or 5. We got George in who looks like an exciting prospect but we've not strengthened in other key areas and obviously the McNeil deal falling through scuppered it.
