Raheem Sterling's Gun Tattoo

I have two things to say in regard to your post. Firstly I would say that if you hold Raheem Sterling up as a role model for anything other than kicking a ball then your need to have a wee look at yourself.
The second is to do with irony, you post using a photograph of Big Nev. Once again have a wee look at yourself but first have a wee look at some of the things Big Nev advocates including his thoughts on the matter at hand.

Whats Big Nev got to do with anything? Does he have a Machine gun tattoo?

If I hold Sterling up a role model? Do you read the posts you respond to?

You don't know that they haven't. Nobody is questioning his or anyone's freedoms either. And it's not just a gun. A pistol or glock would signify something completely different.

I like the argument purely because I think once you become a household name, making money off your 1.4 million Twitter followers and your 3.4 million Instagram sheeples you inherit a deeper responsibility in the messages that you convey. He is an athlete, entertainer and by way of being an International in the World Cup an ambassador for what that should embody.

The lad has lots of tattoos and they probably all have some significant meaning but whether he or you like it or not, he has of crossed over into the gun debate.

Okay, for arguments sake say young Raheem had suddenly become a buddist and decided to tattoo a swastika on his leg. It's an ancient symbol used by many cultures symbolically. How would you react to that?

I've seen people with swatstikas in person. I avoid them, don't say much to them when I'm forced to interact with them due to my job. If it was because he's a Buddhist I'd wish him luck explaining it. He's also black so that'd make things more confusing.

What I do is say to each their own. Now if he got that tattoo and started saying racist/anti-Semitic things, then I'd be concerned and he'd warrant some public shame/reaction, especially seeing as he's black.

But just a tattoo of a swastika? I don't care it's his body.

Your distinction between a glock and a machine gun tattoo is also really confusing. It doesn't make sense at all.

I'm not sure you have a coherent point between your posts. While I disagree with you, if you're against gun tattoos so be it. But then to even go off in the mud further where a glock is ok but a machine gun is not shows you really don't even have a respectable point in my opinion.

People dont tend to go on mass shootings with handguns. Sure, they might take them along, but when you’re planning on killing lots of people its not the weapon of choice is it? If you saying you dont understand the symbolic representation in the difference between a glock and machine gun... I cant argue with you because you don’t actually get it.

What would you say the symbolism of a rifle represents? To me that means military, defence or even defiance. Its doesn’t mean ‘mass shooter’. A glock is more symbolic to gangsters or to modern crime. It also doesn’t mean ‘mass shooter’. Same for a six shooter. Its a gun but you’d think ‘wild west’.

But an automatic assault weapon? Its an amazingly poor choice of symbolic representation. Thats the rub.

Still confused?

It's pretty tacky but then again, Sterling could put his bins out and the tabloids would make a story out of it.

Also Piers Morgan cryarsing about it is laughable. What's Arsenal's symbol, again?

So it’s okay for a high profile role model, especially for kids to tattoo a machine gun on himself - in this day and age - in this particular climate of mass shootings - right before the World Cup... ok...hey pass the bong over here pls. Its his body. I get it. But what the actual F.

What a world. I wonder if young Bob Irwins going to get that tattoo of a stingray on his face.. ITS HIS FACE YANO

it’s about him being a black guy with money. That’s all this is about. Hard to not find start thinking it’s just flat out racist
