Not a fun topic but some loonies out there seem to think they're coming...

No jokes about @TheFinnFan please.

Feels like the world is getting more divided by the day. Chances of similar nutters causing trouble in the UK?

A seriously silly question--is there more than 1 ethnic group in Finland?

The rise of extremism in Britain is a result of the failure of the political classes to run the country in a way that benefits the masses. I don’t point the finger at either of the two big parties as their ethos is barely distinguishable. However the Tories are the party in power so they have to own the current mess. When you look at the health service, education, infrastructure, policing and the level of dishonesty that exists in business, politics and life in general it is no wonder that certain people are turning away from the mainstream to look for solutions to our problems and those solutions are generally more and more extreme.
As a person from Northern Ireland I will be given the opportunity at some point in the future to vote on leaving the United Kingdom and joining an all Ireland Republic, the southern politicians haven’t done anything over the last few years to convince me that I would be better in throwing my lot in with them but English politicians have done plenty to convince me that their aims and ambitions for the country do not align with mine.
Unlike some I do not claim to speak for anyone else but I get the feeling more and more people like me are coming to the same conclusion.

IMO when it comes to tribal politics, the west are amateurs compared w/ Thailand.

The Monkeys at the temples in Thailand have no fear.

I loved them. Need to go back again.

Yeah mate. I’d describe my background as extremely moderate unionist and I’m totally up for a united ireland providing a compelling case can be made in terms of the practicalities. Not least as I’ve got a good career in the public sector and would want assurances on that or a clear path on how we would transition from a very public sector workforce to private sector. And that’s leaving aside the utter dumpster fire that is tribalism in NI and how it would be policed lol.

However, I do feel we’d have more say in how we’re governed in a UI and I guess the erosion of living standards and Brexit have made me feel a lot more open to change in that regard.
