I'm not sure that is entirely true. As mentioned in reply to Bruce, above, the population is acutely aware of the illegal boat migrants. Also, people will have experience in the NHS and the like of legal migrants filling needed job roles. We 100% need migration but I think it is fair to say that it should be legal and not support illegality and criminality.

There of course are some with racist motives but it would be wrong to label everyone with concerns as one.

It is a right mess and needs sorting out ASAP.

You think they asked the people involved in those riots those questions in the poll? The old coal mining working class towns, council estates, the ones on the poverty line. The places they tend to house migrants and asylum seekers.

Japan is a unique case as the population decrease is largely based on societal changes. In comparison most other reaches of the globe are still far ahead of the West in terms of population. Look at the population of China, India & Russia alone.

Do not be seduced by the likes of Musk, population decrease is a good thing for humanity/the planet. It just means how society functions need to be adapted.

Many of the current issues we face globally are directly linked to overpopulation / limited resources.

The birth rate in Russia is 1.49. In China it's 1.16. Even in India it's only 2.03. So all three are below the replacement rate, with the first two by some margin.

There are adequate resources and wealth globally for all to manage, it's the greed of the west, the mismanagement of the resources, hoarding of wealth, conscious abuse of less well off people, refusal to change and the entire corporate approach to the expendability of human life.
It's using perpetual war as an economic model, to use unrest and anger as a a guided distraction.

No. Me either. A guy I helped out this morning was from Afghanistan. The boat across the channel was just a small part of his journey. Another guy is from South Sudan. Deserts, mountains, seas. That's what makes me angry, as the government talks about stopping the gangs. No [Poor language removed] would voluntarily choose to go on such journeys and rely on such crooks if there was a safer alternative, but the government/s want to appear tough to the thugs we're seeing across the land over the last week, so they don't provide them. They're actively facilitating the people trafficking by providing no safe alternative ways of claiming asylum.
