A "perfect" storm.

The Manchester thing, then the very, very heartbreaking other thing, I dont even know what to call that, add in some Russian bots stirring the pot and BOOM.

Sorry for my usage of the word perfect, I dont know any other way to describe it, my English is lacking at 1am, I mean no harm.
I get what you mean mate.
Blood sad myself what a mess.

The problem they have is that they will act disproportionately on one occasion then try to manage it through PR and it backfires.

They've also been guilty of poor policing through covid and disproportionate action against calmer protests - where right wing media and politicians have applauded those actions and called for tougher policing.

Now, those same voices are silent because these are the people they're trying to entice and if the police do act as they should to violent protest, the likes of Braverman, Farage will be claiming that policing is 2 tiered and lead by liberals.

Coupled with massive cuts to policing and police budgets, we are where we are.
I would have expected at least one of the regional forces to go, it deffo ain’t happening here.

1 warning, then whack-whack ouch and you’re nicked.

The similarity in the passive policing across the country is worrying. A similarly unsatisfactory outcome in all cases, must surely bring about a change in their approach ?

I don't necessarily disagree with this.

While most police officers do a good job, there are some challenges due to the nature of the role and there are a small number of public relations issues as with many sectors that employ humans suffer. That said, this period of societal tension needs a force that the idiots in our society don't feel empowered to wade into and lob bricks at. The rise of the far right and the societal issues they bring, not just in the UK but in Europe isn't going to disappear overnight. Heaven forbid, it may get worse.

I'm not sure that allowing Farage and Braverman to shape the agenda would be a good thing. They are a part of the issue that needs addressing.

You are correct about funding. A functional force requires resources and manpower that the cons have steadily stripped.

Labour have been in for 6? weeks mate.

The Tories and that bellend Farage have been pushing the Forens are bad line, but I personally havent seen it from Labour much, thats not to say it hasnt happened, I just personally havent seen it, before anybody starts posting "GOTCHA".
Labour haven't presented a narrative that its our system to blame, not minorities. I think the Forde report shown within the party there is a lot of racism aswell. This is food for thought aswell, from the week before the election.

Your riot police seem very soft, here in Croatia its well know facts that riot police consist of people who enjoy to break some bones and joining riot police gave them legal way of doing it, in short you don't feck with riot police here.
There is already enough violence in this country from the police towards women and girls, giving them more power is a dangerous road to go down
