Pure Rumour - Heitinga to Inter £10m

I think £5m is decent considering he's entering the final 12 months. I'm not surprised if Moyes doesn't think himself that he'd necessarily prefer Heitinga to sign a new contract.

A bit surprised also that it was not commonly known that he was entering his final 12 months now, but that simply points to the fact he's not that good, and him entering the final 12 months now was not leading to lots and lots of transfer speculation.

I think it's cool by me personally if true.

No reason why we can't be a fresh, vibrant team next year, shuffling into the side the likes of Junior, Barkley, Duffy, Vellios into the side when we can.

Heitinga made a few noises about wanting out early on in his career, but I haven't been all that impressed with him generally. He is of international pedigree though and it's not surprising a Dutch international c/b would still command £5m with 12 months left.

If Moyes begins to show his knack again of signing cheap bargains, as well as the occasional sensible decision quickly, which though I'm jumping the gun, could prove the case with Cameron, that would be good for the club and allow him to maybe make the odd bigger value signing now and again.

And there you have how misinformation gets spread more and more.

John Heitinga is eager to sign a new Everton deal – insisting he is enjoying the best season of his career.

The Dutch defender’s contract runs out next year, and Goodison chiefs plan to offer him improved terms.

Heitinga said: “This is the best season of my career. I’m in great shape, the team is performing well, and I feel the people at Everton value and trust me a great deal.

"We’re now due to face Liverpool in the FA Cup. A Merseyside derby at Wembley will be an amazing experience.â€￾

I take it it runs out in 2013 Summer, which is 12 months isn't it? What have I missed?

Yeah, the mirror are well reliable like.
Everton have completed the signing of Netherlands defender Johnny Heitinga from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £6m, which could rise to £7m.
The 25-year-old penned a five-year deal at Goodison Park after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

I'm quite certain that if it was four years with the option of one more they would have said so, as they normally do.

Although on the bright side, at least if we're wrong and his contract does end next summer then the fee being rumoured isn't so terrible....

An ITK just texted me that that means Everton are paying it over five years and that it was a clever piece of marketing by Everton through playing with the facts to make them look cool.

Just joking.

Pomp please get as drunk as that night you went nuts on here and got banned.

It was one of my top ten GOT moments ever man.

No I won't do that. It's much better to be stoned. That's no admission though of how I am right now. Just in general.

OK I might do that but it won't be funny or pre-planned. :)
