I think £5m is decent considering he's entering the final 12 months. I'm not surprised if
Moyes doesn't think himself that he'd necessarily prefer Heitinga to sign a new contract.
A bit surprised also that it was not commonly known that he was entering his final 12 months now, but that simply points to the fact he's not
that good, and him entering the final 12 months now was not leading to lots and lots of transfer speculation.
I think it's cool by me personally if true.
No reason why we can't be a fresh, vibrant team next year, shuffling into the side the likes of Junior, Barkley, Duffy, Vellios into the side when we can.
Heitinga made a few noises about wanting out early on in his career, but I haven't been all that impressed with him generally. He is of international pedigree though and it's not surprising a Dutch international c/b would still command £5m with 12 months left.
If
Moyes begins to show his knack again of signing cheap bargains, as well as the occasional sensible decision quickly, which though I'm jumping the gun, could prove the case with Cameron, that would be good for the club and allow him to maybe make the odd bigger value signing now and again.
