Pure Rumour - Heitinga to Inter £10m

This is why we will be insane to accept a small fee for Heitinga with things like this going on...

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing left-back Ryan Cresswell, 22, from Ipswich Town, but the Championship club will hold out for a fee of about £6m.

Ryan Cresswell £6m
Johhny Heitinga £5m

You what?

A lot of papers are reporting Heitinga to Fenerbahce for 5mil today, bit scary like.

Surely it can't be true? Our player of the season last season and a regular Holland international for 5million?

If this doesn't turn out to be bollocks I hope that moyes and kenwright have a good idea how to replace him with a similar player on a shoestring.

Imagine we sold Heitinga for 5m when, if he was a Liverpool player, they would easily demand and get at least double that. Little old Everton in being pathetic in the transfer market shocker.

I want serious answers if he goes for £5m. It makes no sense at all. None.

He's in the last year of his contract mate. The annoying thing is that we struggle to tie players to contracts and then have to sell them below the going rate. The same thing happened with Pienaar.

Having said all this, I'd be really surprised if this one happened.

I'm going to drop out of here a bit lads but a little update before I go. Firstly as has been said Heitinga isn't (to my knowledge) in his last year of his deal at all.

More importantly I think (despite what's been going on in the last few weeks) that we've rejected the fenebache bid for Heitinga , a bid for Yobo is still on the table but is considerably lower that the €2.5m bid that was accepted before both sides effectively tore it up for reasons that can be identified earlier in this thread . The situation is constantly changing but as of now that's where we are , which frankly is nowhere with people tearing their hair out .

Anyway chaps hope some have appreciated by posts and to those that didnt my apologies

He isn't in the last year of his contract, he signed a 5 year deal in the summer of 2009.

Getting 5m for a player in the last year of his contract isent really that bad

About 5 days ago I was looking forward to this season, Baines staying, Naismith signed, Pienaar en route. Now its just a big fecking shambles. Losing Jonny and going back to Jags/Distin pairing is a step backwards imo.

Sheedy,

from the quotes in the papers today Yobo sounds a bit more pissed with Fener then Everton? would that be fair or is he at a plague on both your houses stage?

I struggle to see him at he club come the end of the transfer window now. If we are courting offers we are effectively saying 'you can go if you want' and he has wanted away in the past.

A move to Turkey for him is a step down in my opinion no matter how much money is offered, and £5m isn't a good deal for us if he has longer than 12 months on his contract.
