Disagree, I think it should be the other way around. The biggest task for any CEO for the next 5 years should be getting the new stadium built and then ensuring that once it is built, we fill it and get it paid for. People should be appointed below the CEO to undertake the more menial tasks.

Building a stadium is a one-off. The consequences, whether right or wrong, are huge, but it has nothing to do with the day to day operations of a football club.

*otherwise let’s appoint Dan Meis to run the club

S

Shes not an actual Professor though mate. Its akin to Idi Amin calling himself Doctor.

Yeah, twigged that- see my subsequent comment later in the thread. It's a bit naughty using the title imho. Dr yes, but Prof? No. Although, the Idi Amin comparison is a bit wide of the mark given she's got sone recognition as a visiting professor at an academic institution.

It's like folks with honorary doctorates who proudly call themselves Dr. 'Koff and earn it properly.

Thats the point though, the CEO shouldn't be involved in the day to day operations of the football club, that is what a board of directors is for. We should have a director for each major area of the business who reports directly to the CEO. The CEO should be the person who drives the overall 'project' forward and focuses on the biggest issues.

The biggest issue facing this club for the next 5 years is the stadium. 5 years is a long time...

Kin el, we've got an actual Professor running the show and some are moaning.
Professor status is conferred mate.

Here's some other professors:

Are you suggesting the board of directors are more involved in the intimate details of the football club than its own CEO?

Haha, yeah, did some more digging, realised I'd got over excited. Don't forget Professor Green. He'd be good too.

Shame, I've worked with a lot of Professors who run complex organisations in HE and beyond. Not saying she's not capable, but it strikes me there's a bit of trumpet blowing / self-promotion going on.

Did people not read the article? Keith Harris will be mainly running the stadium project and Sasha will be doing the commercial deals

My view is anyone but Elstone, but still must admit I'm fairly underwhelmed by what is on paper an unimaginative appointment that has a hint of cronyism. Good luck to her though.

Sir, Lord, Professor...not necessarily a great indication of anything. I turn them down all the time.
