At the moment you’re assuming her version of events in this particular case is true, maybe because you have a bias against the monarchy.

Forgive my ignorance, but why can't he be put on trial here? Or sent over to America?

If I (or any one of us) did a crime abroad would we not be extradited? Or does it depend on the severity of the crime and amount of evidence?

I wouldn't be responding to any extradition requests currently.

I don't like tangling up 2 separate cases. Both should of course face up to the law enforcement agencies of the county they (allegedly) committed their crimes regardless of who else is doing it.

This is another scandal on top of a horrendous death of the young man and its effect on his close ones.

TBF I am not sure it will - Prince Andrew is an ideal figurehead for this case, or more precisely an ideal figurehead for why the investigation into the people Epstein was (presumably) blackmailing cannot proceed. He is both fundamentally unimportant as an individual (with no remaining reputation, no need to earn money or leave a legacy) but also too important to ever be extradited.

The people at the top know he is profoundly unlikely that he would be sent over there, which therefore means the investigation into the circle of powerful men around Epstein remains forever paused, apparently relying on something impossible happening before it can move forward. This pause obviously then means that any other measures against the US citizens who had far greater ties to Epstein (and who really do have a lot to lose) cannot take place, unfortunately.

The lid is put back on the can of worms and everyone involved can go about their after-dinner circuits, directorships and yachts a little easier.
