What we see today with most managers are benign and carefully scripted responses to journalist's questions designed to cause the least offence. You can't blame them because the detailed fan analysis and tearing apart of every spoken word, sometimes fuelled by their own individual agenda/emotion can potentially via social media strip a team of its confidence or get you the sack! We only really see the most successful managers opening up a bit more because they are afforded the respect. It's only when things are either going great or extremely bad that they tend to vere from the script. I wish it wasn't like this but social media has changed the world.
Please don't ever forget BFS's off the cuff remarks all the time because he believed he too was one of 'the most successful managers' group. His pressers were the most painful part of his blasphemous reign of horror at our beloved club!

Just been on SSN that Gomes is in full training with the squad and Mina is training on his own on grass but not yet included in full training. Both are expected to be available for selection after the International break.

Well we heard that before the last International break too, so let's hope that this time it happens.

In bold hope he's not smoking astro turflol

..I presume there is one of these today. I hope a journalist has the foresight to ask;

‘what specifically is wrong with Yerry Mina given the previous explanation of a ‘minor foot injury’. We are now in October and he’s yet to make an appearance?’

‘when will he be available?’

‘What specifically is the extent of Gomes’ hamstring injury. We are now in October, when will he be available for selection?’.
Where you went wrong with your wants there, is wanting one ofvthevreporters to be a reporter and do some delving.

Instead they seem to turn up, enjoy some hospitality, mumble a few innane questions with the express intention of making sure they get invited back for next week's hospitality, then go back to their desks (via a couple of hours in the boozer/coffee shop having a chat, to type up a summary concoction of what WE say on websites such as this, their imaginations and what other reporters imagine.

We'd all be better off if these reporters went off and did something useful, like road sweeping etc.

Decent presser that, slightly longer than usual. He likes to emphasise the long term and doesn't really seem too concerned about the form. He's fully aware that we're not where we need to be.
