No Davies, no Kenny and hopefully no DCL after the international break... the dream.
hmmm, we will have the same striker options....

the last 23 years would suggest otherwise. In fairness to him i think he realised the mistake he made quite early by bringing on Niasse and Walcott. I will reluctantly accept things like this for this season assuming we are learning from our mistakes and improving. it's all about the long term for me.No Marco. I'm afraid making 7 changes cannot be described "consistency" of selection.
He's admitted himself what's expected. He's said all the right things. He needs to act accordingly though because he's not at Watford or Hull anymore and we don't toss away trophy opportunities and disrespect competitions at this club.

Cenk, Lookman and Bernard were more than good enough to score against a poor Southampton second string and should have done better. You're right about Niasse, he is pointless, it's farcical that with all the money we've spent we are still calling on him to change a game, it was a sub that made no sense. The only 2 starting players I had issue with were Stek – there’s genuinely no reason to drop our No 1 GK and Dowell who hasn’t even been getting on the bench in recent weeks. 7 changes were too many and that is down to Silva and he takes the blame but I still think there was enough quality on that pitch to beat what is basically a championship side in waiting.Niasse sub pointless. Walcott was on 75 minutes too late. Richarlison same.
We've lost a heck of a lot of cup ties. But I don't think we've saw many team selections as bad as that where we completely threw our chances under a bus. That team that started would struggle to score against a championship side. To select it against top flight opposition was completely disrespectful.
Niasse sub pointless.
His pass lead to the equalizer though! Hardly pointless.
Good press conference from Silva. I like him and have confidence in him driving the club in the right direction.
Southampton top flight ... hmmmmmNiasse sub pointless. Walcott was on 75 minutes too late. Richarlison same.

Watching it again it wasn't a great pass, kinda behind the player rather than into his path. If Walcott had hit straight int o Gunn would Niasse's contribution have been the same? This. Did more than 90% of the team that night...

I too think Niasse is an effective sub for us but I dont think one pass entitles him to be considered as doing more than 90% of the team.Come on now, it was a threaded through ball to someone who was one on one and scored, there's no need to bash it because it wasn't 100% and the best pass ever seen.
I back up the guys backing up niasse's sub. He's got us out of more holes than anyone from the bench in the last two years. It certainly wasn't pointless like the other poster said.
