I think your overstating the important of people’s opinions on this thread/forum. Hence why in the entire history of the site this is the first time it’s been mentioned.

As someone who has worked in the media a bit these are exactly what they are advertised as. Press conferences. Emphasis on the word ‘Press’.

They’re not especially for fans. They’re for the press. If it was a fan thing like their ‘behind the scenes’ videos, which I happen to think are quite good, then they would put more effort in to them.

We’re lucky we get to see the press conferences at all.

I think they’re very amateurish.
It is another opportunity to raise the profile and perceived ‘big-ness’ of our club for people around the world.
The written press of old are a minority, only serious fans watch this, make it more upbeat, audible and even (filtered) interactive, to get more people interested around the world..
or stay a museum club.

It's been mentioned fairly frequently.

We have a press conference thread and I've just searched 'audio' in it;

But even that rs one. It’s just questions to the manager. The sound was better than ours but as long as the journos can hear it I’m really not that arsed.

I think the question is do the reporters push the manager on to be better, or does the manager have to show something special first to get the press involved.

The importance of the forumites' opinions is not in question. You said no-one cares. You were wrong, as shown by this thread & Danny's post above.

The press conferences may not be for the fans, but the videos are, therefore it would behove the club to improve the audio quality of them so that the fans can actually hear what the journalists are saying.

Again, just because we are 'lucky', in your opinion, to have the videos, doesn't mean we should accept their mediocrity.
