what was said sorry? was at the game and thought the atmosphere was pretty good. Most fans still cheering us on to score in injury time....

A few minutes into the game he questioned the atmosphere around the ground, then over the course of the 90 minutes he said (from what i can remember) that the players and manager need to question the fans, at one point he said at 1-3 that he was unsure if the fans wanted to see us score again and was unsure how we would react to a goal. He couldnt go 5 minutes without mentioning the crowd/fans/atmosphere.

Hang on, what was different with the atmosphere compared to every other game?

Loads of chanting from the Gwladys and Park End, especially when we pulled it back to 2-3

Rapturous applause when Ross scored

Just Tyler's true colours shining through. He couldnt go after the players, so instead he went after the fans.

... and referees.

From top to bottom there has been a reek of corruption this season.

It sticks out like a sore thumb this season. In fact, the referee appointment panel (the self styled mafia who've cornered the market in supplying refs to the PL) need investigating. There's a challenge to their legitimacy by another body I read somewhere this week. They have overseen a complete cluster **** of a season and should be torn to pieces in a decently governed industry. The refereeing elsewhere is miles better than over here. There's two refs (Webb and Dowd) who only come close to being competent.

I am a life long reds fan and Everton has always been my second team. I am reading these posts with a lot of disappointment.First of all let me say I felt the Everton team done their best and McCarthy and Barkley were excellent. My disappointment lies with the attitude of the Everton fans at the game and even more so in this forum. To me we are all scousers and have to put up with enough redicule and discrimination from the rest of the country. We have been an example to the rest of how we are a family community and how our people stick together.i cannot understand why Everton fans would want the title to go to the moneybags dominant clubs in Manchester and London rather than to Merseyside. I for one really wantef Everton to get champions league football and for our great city to be the hotbed of football again. Most Liverpool fans feel the same. This is a great opportunity lost and I have no doubt that if Everton had made Goodison the cauldron hostile arena it normally is, the playets would have responded and beaten City. Scouser till I die.

I don't know anyone from England, never mind Liverpool, who would say 'Everton has always' instead of 'Everton have always', more American than scouse I'd say.
On the subject of commentary, I watched in a pub here in boston so couldn't hear the commentary great but NBC had Arlow White (doesn't usually like us) and lee Dixon I think, they spent the whole game complementing the everton fans and team, they thought it was a tremendous game. The crowd were very loud on TV here. Someone with the know how should splice together a video of sky v NBC because I'd say they are very different!

We're right to receive this backlash from the media to be fair

How dare we qualify for Europe

We should know our place and finish 7th or 8th and let the real teams finish in the European places. We've spat on the premier league and should hang our heads in shame

I'm going to sit on the naughty step for 38 minutes, one for each game

I couldn't give a toss what the RS driven media say about us and the fact that we had the audacity not to beat one of the most expensive sides ever assembled in a game that was crucial for them but meant virtually nothing to us.

They can all go suck a lemon

Not particularly relevant to this thread, but probably the best place to put it. Just read this little gem in The Telegraph:

Gerrard may well be haunted not just by his slip against Chelsea but also by the images being replayed time and again of his emotive team-talk on the pitch following the thrilling 3-2 victory against Manchester City.

Liverpool had considered complaining to Sky for placing their cameras so close to the captain, but decided to let the matter rest, partly because they were aware that if the title was won, that would emerge as a defining image. As it is, it could be the moment that haunts them.

Haha, joke of a club.

Then you're a moron then as there was nothing wrong whatsoever with the attitude of the fans at the game.

Do one with your condescending claptrap, stop looking for excuses and look at your own results.

Couldn't agree more. They never cease to amaze with their own particular brand of vitriol when it suits them, yet wallow on some kopitesque moral high ground when things don't go how they think they have a God-given right for them to. Instead of them spewing a scatter gun demonisation of Evertonians, they need to question their own sanity. The likes of their pre-match grotesque fan cordons (missing only the Rafael-ble Conclave of robed Cardinals)...the inflated and more than premature Premier Champions bragging with associated merchandise/banners and them being pushovers and seduced by the sudden media love-in with them.... and moreover and more tellingly, their team's pathetic inability to retain even a precious point at home to a substandard, defensive yet cleverly drilled Chelski side when it was absolutely vital, at the death. But they wont of course. The truth hurts.
