They lied because they were going to break the rule. You can only spend what you earn, so they lied about what they earned.

Their owner funded big deals with his own money through Etihad, but he would have had to do that if the rules wernt in place.

They had time to fix the books like all the other clubs had to. They didn't and got pulled for it.

Its a good rule if used for cases like this and if the book was thrown. It's seems like that's happened.

However...I can see the ban being overturned but the fine increasing. They'll use the idea that they're too important a name for the sport to be kicked out and it'll work imo
