Hey lads and ladies,

Not sure if this was the correct place to post this thread and if not mods please move, but i was wondering with the injury/ies to Willam Gallas and Alumnia im just wondering if our chance to topple Arsenal and Villa (subject to the result on sunday) has now increased a little bit?

Thoughts??

There's a remote possibility given Arsenal have Liverpool, United and Chelsea to play. If they lose all of those games, then we can take 4th. But it's a long-shot, mate. But let's put it this way, if I was an Arsenal fan today, I would be looking over my shoulder. I would be just a little bit worried about either Villa or Everton catching up. So I suppose we should take a crumb of comfort from that.

Absolutely. Back in late January Wenger stated that Everton were as big a threat as Villa for 4th place. At that time we were 6 points behind Arsenal and 11 behind Villa. It’s going to be hard to get 4th but if our away form can pick up, who knows.

As far as I am concerned, with us playing Villa tomorrow, and the run in Arsenal have, its in our own hands...

Given Artetas injury though, I think its unrealistic to have high hopes for fourth, though it would be nice to be in with a shout with two or three games left.

if we win tomorrow 5th isn't guaranteed (2pts above villa we us still having to play chelsea). all we can do is play to our best strengths and hope we have a chance in the last few games. it all comes down to van persie's equaliser, we'd be 4pts behind and then i would say yes defo. we've gotta win all our games and hope arsenal lose to liverpool, united and chelsea that would put us 2 pts above at the end of the season (72pts total).

Big ask to finish fourth - but we must finish 5th to prove the 'villa loving media' they backed the wrong horse.(y)
Just hope if we do close in on arsenal that last minute equalizer at home doesn't prove to be the difference.
